Chapter 169 - Chapter 169 - 169: Purple Pockmarks (2/2)

Ka Jinwen sighed, “The capture operation this time is funded by their families. There are some things we shouldn’t take so seriously; we just need to do our part.”

Chen Yu had no interest in dealing with those matters. According to the rules, his sole purpose for being here was to act as an accompanying artist.

He wouldn’t foolishly risk his life unless it was absolutely necessary.

The four of them left the fried chicken shop and did not part ways, but instead boarded a modified armored vehicle parked by the roadside.

Although regulations required them to enter Angluna separately, the method of entry was not important as long as they could get in.

Besides, the four of them could be considered part of the same group, and it was useful to coordinate with each other when necessary.

Moreover, now that Ka Jinwen and Katherine William had encountered Chen Yu here, they had to prioritize following William family’s orders to ensure Chen Yu’s safety.

Even under the best conditions, the trip from Sumger to Angluna would take at least five hours.

Plus, since they had all just arrived and had been traveling a long distance, they would need to find a place to rest first.

Under Ka Jinwen’s lead, the group quickly arrived at a village.

“This place is part of the private property of William’s family. The deep-sea fish caught here are sent directly to the William estate every year,” Katherine excitedly explained to Chen Yu as she led him to a wooden cabin.

“Mr. Chen, please rest here for now, and we’ll plan in detail how to enter Angluna tomorrow.”

Chen Yu managed a weak smile and then fell straight to sleep.

At twelve noon the next day, Chen Yu emerged from the wooden cabin, fully refreshed.

At the entrance of the village, four snowmobiles had been arranged early, with the necessary supplies for each person.

However, the whole village seemed desolate, and the only person standing next to the snowmobiles was Jin Lingsu.

“Where did those two siblings go?”

Jin Lingsu instinctively adjusted the protective face shield she was wearing, then handed one to Chen Yu.

“We miscalculated on arrival. The village has been infected by a contagious disease, and most of the villagers are ill. This morning, Katherine also had a lot of purple pustules on her face.”

Chen Yu frowned, “Are you sure they’re purple?”

Jin Lingsu gestured towards a nearby cabin, “You can see for yourself.”

Chen Yu put on the face shield and went to knock on the door of the cabin.

Ka Jinwen carefully cracked the door open, and upon confirming that Chen Yu was wearing a face shield, he opened the door confidently.

“Mr. Chen, my sister has caught the disease, I’m afraid our plan will have to be…”

Before Ka Jinwen could finish, Chen Yu interrupted him, then walked over to the bed, taking Katherine’s pulse.

“Dead fish erythema, a type of eczema caused by low-temperature injury. It’s not really a contagious disease,” Chen Yu said as he swiftly prescribed a treatment, handing it to Ka Jinwen.

“These ingredients should be found nearby. Go and have a look!”

Taking the prescription, Ka Jinwen hurried out the door.

Jin Lingsu also hastily entered the cabin at that moment, “Can you cure this disease?”

Chen Yu heated a needle in the fireplace until it was red-hot and then pricked Katherine’s wrist with it.

“This is the first time I’ve encountered this disease. Let’s give it a try!”

Jin Lingsu quickly grabbed a basin from beside and placed it next to the bed to collect blood.

“Do you need me to do anything?”

Chen Yu breathed out softly, “Help me take stock of how many people in the village are infected, and also collect some blood samples from those who are not infected.”
