Chapter 254: Chapter 254 Illuminati

The receptionist at the bar, seeing the middle-aged man return, hurried to greet him.

“Did you deliver the items to William’s family? And did you receive the payment?”

The two questions left the middle-aged man at a loss, his gaze occasionally drifting to Chen Yu behind him.

The receptionist immediately sensed something was amiss and sent out a signal that put everyone inside the bar on alert.

Various weapons in hand, they pointed them at Chen Yu, ready to open fire at the first sign of trouble.

Yet Chen Yu appeared extremely calm, “I’m only here to discuss business with your leader, why all this fuss?”

The crowd exchanged glances, and one of them picked up a pager and began speaking a strange language rapid-fire.

It seemed to be a unique language specifically designed for use within the Illuminati.

Before long, an elderly man made his way slowly from a corner of the bar, and as soon as he appeared, the middle-aged man immediately rushed over and knelt down with a thump.

“Mr. Kaylo, I swear I didn’t mean to bring this guy here on purpose. I was forced, and besides, he came to do business with us. I couldn’t just leave him outside,” the middle-aged man pleaded.

Kaylo looked disdainfully at the middle-aged man before lifting his gaze to Chen Yu.

“An Easterner! Over the years, quite a few Easterners like you have come here for business. You are not the only one. Are you also looking to take back some lost Eastern antiques?”

Chen Yu’s eyebrows twitched. It seemed many before him had harbored such intentions.

“In that case, I’ll be straightforward. No matter how many Eastern treasures you have here, I’ll take them all!”

Kaylo sighed somewhat helplessly.

“I have a lot of items here, but I’m afraid you might not be able to handle them all!”

Chen Yu stretched his limbs casually, “How can you be so sure I won’t be able to take them all? Regardless, please show me the goods first, Mr. Kaylo.”

After pondering for a moment, Kaylo rose, leaning on his cane, and led Chen Yu down a subterranean passageway.

Before long, the two arrived at a relatively spacious hall.

There sat two other elderly men with white hair, the symbols of the Illuminati emblazoned on their chests, each holding a nine-dragon cup, drinking.

Seeing Kaylo come down with Chen Yu, they immediately became wary.

“Kaylo, what’s this about? Why did you bring another Easterner down here? Our treasures are all going to be bought out by them at this rate!” expressed the two men.

Kaylo chuckled, “They have the money, we have the goods; there’s no reason not to do business! Quickly bring out our treasured items for the gentleman to see.”

The two old men did not say much, just opened a large glass door, and a dazzling light emanated from within.

At first glimpse of the light, Chen Yu was surprised; he did not expect so many treasures to be hidden here.

But upon closer inspection of the items, he revealed a face full of disdain; they were all fakes.

The forger, however, was quite skilled; each item was painstakingly crafted to look just like the real thing.

Just as he was about to make a sarcastic remark, he suddenly noticed a white jade Guanyin statue placed nearby.

This white jade Guanyin statue, both in expression and in the technique of forgery, was identical to the one that had been auctioned off at the Zhao Family’s auction before.

It seemed that the forger not only had connections with the Zhao Family but also conducted covert business with the Illuminati.
