Chapter 403: Chapter 403 Cooperation Relationship

Chen Yu’s eyes sparkled with an unusual light, and he felt a genuine connection with this Heavenly Master Long Tian.

“Thank you for your high regard, Senior Heavenly Master, but I am already a Knight of the Round Table. Wouldn’t it be a bit improper to join another organization?”

Heavenly Master Long Tian nonchalantly picked up the tea beside him and drank it all in one gulp.

“Rules are made by people; if they’re not suitable, we can change them. Besides, the Xuanqing Sect has no strict rule that requires you to leave your current organization to join us.”

Chen Yu had not expected the Xuanqing Sect to be so accommodating. For a moment, he was truly tempted.

Fox stood up at once, casting a warning glance at Heavenly Master Long Tian.

“Senior Heavenly Master, I’m still here. Please mind what you say.”

Heavenly Master Long Tian could not care less, as he took out a small porcelain bottle from his person.

“The artifact of immortality you want is with me! I think there’s no need to auction it off. I could hand it over to you, but my condition is that I take this young man with me.”

All present widened their eyes in astonishment. They had not anticipated that Heavenly Master Long Tian would yield the artifact of immortality so easily, and his only condition was taking Chen Yu with him.

Fox, on the other hand, was brimming with joy. When Chen Yu had joined, what he valued most was Chen Yu’s ability to extend one’s lifespan by ten years.

If they got their hands on the artifact of immortality, Chen Yu would lose his value to them.

Yet, to let Chen Yu go so easily would make them, the Knights of the Round Table, seem inconsiderate.

“Heavenly Master Long Tian, some matters have to be dealt with according to the rules. I say let’s put it up for bidding at the auction. It’s not like we’re short of a few bucks.”

With a chuckle, Heavenly Master Long Tian tucked the porcelain bottle away and turned to leave. As he reached the door, he looked back at Chen Yu.

“Young man, I’ll wait for your decision back home.”

Chen Yu said nothing, just leaned back and looked at the Token of the Knights of the Round Table in his hands.

From Fox’s tone just now, he understood that he wouldn’t be a knight for much longer.

After taking a moment to regulate his breathing, Chen Yu stood up.

“I’ve just arrived here and haven’t had the chance to rest properly, so I won’t stay any longer. Please excuse me.”

His voice was devoid of emotion, and even Fox was taken aback for a second.

After Chen Yu had left, the smiles on the faces of those present vanished instantly.

“Looks like that kid has been brainwashed by the guy named Long. It won’t be long before he joins the Xuanqing Sect. I say we’d better kill him off while we still can.”

“Someone like him could be a great asset in our hands, but in the hands of others, he becomes our enemy.”

The group chattered incessantly, discussing Chen Yu’s fate as if they could easily decide his life and death.

Fox’s eyes narrowed slightly, a murderous intent playing across his face.

Even though Chen Yu had saved two lives from their family and there was still a cooperative relationship between the Tong Group and the Childe Family.

To him, Chen Yu was nothing more than a tool to be used. If there ever came a day when Chen Yu lost his usefulness, Fox would not hesitate to get rid of him.

As soon as he left the fourth underground level, Jin Lingsu clutched the spikes concealed in her embrace.

“Down there, I could feel the murderous intent from those guys. It seems they are going to make a move on you.”

Chen Yu appeared indifferent.

“If they can kill me, what’s to say I can’t kill them? Besides, this is Dongming Gorge. If they die here, it won’t cause much of a stir in the outside world.”

Jin Lingsu immediately understood Chen Yu’s implication. She knew that those people were as good as dead.

Chen Yu didn’t wander aimlessly outside, but instead, he took Jin Lingsu back to the first underground layer.

Compared to the other layers, this one was somewhat more peaceful. The other three were either full of deceit and trickery or outright fraud. Here, most of the businesses were small food stalls, free of that chaotic mess.
