Chapter 407: Chapter 407: The Hundred-Year Snow Lotus

Chen Yu didn’t hesitate for a second, and the instant the cards were thrown into the air, he reached out and grabbed one, slapping it down on the table.

The man across from him was also quick to react, promptly taking out his own card following Chen Yu’s move.

Both men regarded each other with caution in their gazes, their faces full of wariness.

Tong Ming Valley was unlike other places, full of deceit and victim playing at its most vivid.

Who knew if these guys had some sort of high-tech or cold pudding gadget to switch the cards in their hands?

Chen Yu took a moment to regulate his breathing and flipped the card over.

It was actually a king of hearts!

The man opposite instantly froze, looking at Chen Yu with eyes filled with horror, then shakily turned over his card.

A queen of spades!

Chen Yu stood up and stared intently at the man across from him.

“The outcome is decided,” he said. “According to our previous agreement, shouldn’t you fulfill your promise now?”

The man’s body trembled, his forehead breaking out in dense beads of sweat.

A moment later, he suddenly pulled out a long knife and pointed it at Chen Yu.

“You little punk, you’re not from William’s family. There’s no need for you to get involved. I’m giving you one chance to get lost immediately, or else I’ll chop off your head.”

Chen Yu laughed a ‘hehe’ as if he’d heard some joke, and his form suddenly flickered.

A dazzling blue-white light flashed on the scene, and once the light dissipated, Chen Yu’s body appeared behind the man, a dagger seemingly materializing in his hand.

The man’s pupils dilated dramatically, and his body shook even more violently.

“Are you a man or a ghost? How can you be so fast?”

Chen Yu didn’t answer but instead pressed the man’s head firmly down onto the table.

“I don’t have much time to waste here,” he said. “I’m giving you one chance: either apologize to Mr. Victor right now or I’ll kill you this instant.”

The man was terrified, and those around him were in a panic, fearful that Chen Yu would really take action.

The scene tensed up immediately, everyone’s gaze focused on Chen Yu.

Just then, a figure suddenly appeared at the scene.

“The Katola Family indeed has gone too far, throwing your weight around here, relying on the organization behind you. Do you really think nobody can handle you?”

Heavenly Master Long Tian’s sudden appearance stunned everyone present; they hadn’t expected this old Taoist to arrive at such a lowly inn.

The Xuanqing Sect was the most mysterious organization in the world, rumored not only to be able to concoct life-extending elixirs but also to wield a tremendously powerful force.

If they were willing, they could make any family in the world disappear, not excluding the likes of the Childe Family.

Chen Yu immediately released the man.

He and Heavenly Master Long Tian had hit it off, and it wouldn’t do to kill someone in front of such a benevolent and kind-looking elder.

“I pay my respects to the Heavenly Master.”

Heavenly Master Long Tian looked at Chen Yu with approval, then took a simple, unadorned wooden token from his clothes and handed it to him.

“I admire you,” he said. “This is the token of the Xuanqing Sect. If one day you make up your mind, you can come to find me. The Xuanqing Sect requires no trials, only destiny.”

Chen Yu was somewhat surprised. Wasn’t this the most mysterious and powerful organization in the world? How could they be so casual?

Just as he was about to ask for some details, a middle-aged man hurriedly walked in.

“Ladies and gentlemen, the black sandstorm in the desert has completely enveloped an area of several hundred miles around. It’s impossible for anyone else to come now, so we have decided to move the auction to tonight,” he said.
