Chapter 416 - Chapter 416: Chapter 416: Area Damage (2/2)

Chen Yu could understand this point. He didn’t say much, just sat down on the side, picked up a wine glass, and gulped down two mouthfuls.

It had to be said, the white wine in the owner’s room was really delicious. The bottle on the table alone had aged for forty years.

“What a fine wine!” Chen Yu exclaimed, then turned to the owner.

“Aren’t you being a bit too cautious, dressing up like this?”

The owner sighed helplessly, sat down opposite Chen Yu, and poured himself a glass of wine.

“I have no choice. You know, the location of our small town is extremely sensitive. To enter the nearby ancient cities, one must resupply here. Sometimes, a group of unreasonable guys comes along. They don’t pay at all; they just rob the store. Many owners have been killed this way.”

Chen Yu’s expression suddenly changed, and he leaned in excitedly toward the owner.

“Are you saying there’s more than one ancient city around here?”

The owner didn’t hide anything: “That’s right, Mutuo Ancient City is just one of them. There are several other small cities built by the descendants of the ancient Western Regions’ thirty-six countries, and they too contain a great deal of treasure.”

Chen Yu sucked in a breath of cold air. He had only wanted to see for himself what the so-called “elixir of life” in Mutuo Ancient City was all about, but he hadn’t expected to find such a windfall.

As the two were talking, a middle-aged man rushed into the room hurriedly.

“Boss, it’s terrible, our people have suffered heavy casualties. If they don’t get treated soon, I’m afraid they won’t survive.”

The owner immediately stood up and rushed downstairs in a flurry.

The recent explosion had damaged many items in the first-floor shop, and the resulting fragments had injured quite a few people.

At least thirty people were lying on the ground, crying and calling for their parents.

This place was already deep in the desert, lacking even basic necessities, let alone finding a doctor. The few doctors that the shop regularly had on hand were nothing more than quacks who, at most, could bandage a wound. They were helpless when it came to injuries of this severity.

The owner was so anxious he was pacing in circles. If only one or two people died during normal times, it wouldn’t matter much since they were deep in the desert and no one would come to bother him.

But in recent days, the world’s top organizations and families had convened here. If these people started causing trouble, both he and his shop might disappear from this world.

Chen Yu saw the dilemma the owner was facing. Without saying much, he went downstairs to an injured man, lifted his hand, lightly tapped a few times on the man’s chest and then grabbed a piece of cloth to stop the bleeding.

The owner’s eyes widened in shock; he had not expected Chen Yu could heal people.

Chen Yu had only just arrived here, and the owner hadn’t had time to collect information about him.

He only knew from some simple media information that Chen Yu was a chef.

He hesitated for a moment, not daring to doubt any longer, and immediately called down all the employees in the shop to help out.

It wasn’t long before the people injured in the explosion stabilized.

Just as Chen Yu was preparing to provide further treatment, several stiff-bodied guys suddenly burst in.
