Chapter 421 - Chapter 421: Chapter 421: The Merger of the Family (2/2)
“The Lakato Family is simply too powerful, their influence almost spans the entire world. Thinking of opposing them is like a fool dreaming.”
“It has been centuries, how can these guys still not let go?”
“The matter of our ancestors was long closed, yet now that they have the power, they have gone back on their word.”
“Just when we had a respite from the Edward Family stirring trouble, now we have to confront the Lakato Family. Is this God’s punishment upon us?”
…
The few elders were extremely anxious, as William’s family had indeed not reached this point easily.
Moreover, several recent mishaps had already caused problems within William’s family. If struck by the Lakato Family now, the entire clan might face absolute ruin.
After coughing a few times, Victor sat up.
“No more talk, everything has come to this point. Immediately notify all of William’s family to cease all internal strife, and from now on, focus solely on external affairs.”
The elders did not say anything more, and immediately made phone calls, but more than half of the calls they made went unanswered.
If the Lakato Family had chosen to deal with them, they would surely have already bribed members within the family.
Up until now, the only family members Victor could truly rally were likely just the few elders present.
Just as they were speaking, sudden urgent horn sounds erupted from the castle’s perimeter.
Victor frowned helplessly and got out of bed.
In the open space outside the castle, there was a golf course that used to be where William’s family entertained distinguished guests. But now, due to lack of care, it was overgrown with weeds.
A somewhat tall middle-aged man, cigar in mouth, trod over the lawn looking around.
“I had long heard that William’s family was descended from European royalty, and their ancient castle truly lives up to its reputation. Seeing it today confirms this, but such a building is wasted in the hands of such people.”
The man’s voice was deliberately loud, as if to ensure the William’s family members following him heard him clearly.
Katherine, in charge of reception, had already clenched the dagger at her waist.
“Mr. Ino, it’s been quite some time since we’ve seen each other, hasn’t it?”
Victor greeted warmly as he hurried over with his cane, but before he could reach him, he stumbled.
Had it not been for the person beside him, he might have fallen to the ground.
Ino laughed out loud with contempt as he approached, casually tossing his cigar on the ground.
“Mr. Victor, you’re already so old, still worrying about William’s family affairs, if I were you, I’d retire and hand over William’s family to me. I’d manage it, give you some shares annually, and that would be enough.”
Victor’s breathing became labored immediately; he had not expected Ino to be so shameless.
After all, William’s family had once been royal, and even were masters of the Lakato Family.
Centuries ago, the Lakato Family would have had to bow and pay respects upon seeing William’s family.
Unexpectedly, now there had been such a drastic turn, and William’s family had to watch the faces of the Lakato Family in their actions.
