Chapter 451: 451
The man looked extremely frail, exuding a sickly aura all over. One of his shoulders was slumped, while the other was covered in strange tattoos.
Chen Yu was immediately drawn to this guy and stood up to walk over.
Upon closer inspection, one would realize that the tattoos on the man’s shoulders were actually a form of artistry, hiding several recipes within them.
However, the tattoos were in an ancient script that was incomprehensible to most people.
Chen Yu’s eyes flickered with a blue and white light, and he quickly deciphered the recipes.
As he approached, the man became instantly alert and paused in his movements.
“Can I help you?” the man asked, full of wariness.
Chen Yu didn’t say much but simply walked to the side, picked up a piece of sugar syrup, and began to knead it quickly in his hands. Soon, a lifelike little figure was presented in front of everyone.
The man was taken aback for a moment. He had been learning sugar candy crafting for many years and had never been able to mold a figure in such a short time.
Undoubtedly Chen Yu’s behavior was a challenge to him.
After a moment of stunned silence, the man, imitating Chen Yu, quickly grabbed a piece of sugar syrup and started to knead.
It took a whole half-hour for him to make a sugar figure roughly the same size as Chen Yu’s.
The man heaved a few heavy breaths, resignedly tossed the sugar figure aside, and then ripped off his chef’s jacket.
“My master was right; I am ultimately still an apprentice and have not grasped the essence of it. Today, I’ve seen a true master,” he said.
After he finished speaking, the man prepared to leave.
Chen Yu quickly stepped forward to stop him, “Your technique is already very impressive; it’s just some details that are limiting your speed.”
A look of yearning immediately appeared in the man’s eyes as he moved closer to Chen Yu.
“Please enlighten me, sir.”
Chen Yu didn’t say much, simply raised his finger, placed it on the man’s tattooed shoulder, and swiftly traced over it.
The patterns he drew may have been unintelligible to others, but the man could clearly feel that the lines and his tattoos represented a form of writing.
Once Chen Yu withdrew his finger, the man suddenly kneeled on the ground.
“Have you also studied in that place?” he asked.
Chen Yu shook his head, “We may have learned similar things, but I have not been to the place you’re talking about.”
The man didn’t say anything more and got up to return to his mobile kitchen to continue his sugar crafting.
In the following month, Chen Yu led a comfortable life.
People like Ding Nolan and Calon were always by his side, making him the most respected person on the entire ship.
It was during their passage through a strait that a large number of ships suddenly surrounded their steamer.
The alarm inside the cabin emitted a piercing sound, and everyone became tense. Some even pulled out lifebuoys, ready to jump into the sea and flee.
But the attackers were so fast that in no time, they had taken complete control of the whole steamer, with the leading man and his entourage swaggering onto the ship.
Armed with standard weapons, they quickly occupied the entire ship.
“Ladies and gentlemen, we’re here for no other reason than to borrow some money to spend. As long as you cooperate, I can assure you no one will get hurt,” he threatened domineeringly, before pulling up a chair and sitting down.
