Chapter 463 - Chapter 463: The Grand Triad Convention (2/2)

Zhang Hu and Li Qiang had completed the transaction, but they didn’t leave, choosing instead to obediently wait in the square.

According to Chen Yu’s request, they had converted 60 percent of their profits entirely into materials, and once they left here, they would immediately transport them to the small town.

Excitement filled the faces of the two men. Although only 30 percent of the profits remained in their hands, it was still double what they had made on previous trips to do business here.

Seeing Chen Yu approaching, the two men eagerly went up to greet him.

“Mr. Chen, the money and goods are all settled. When do we depart?”

Chen Yu waved his hand, “I won’t be going with you! Just come back here to pick me up after you’ve delivered the materials.”

The two men’s eyes lit up instantly. Chen Yu’s words meant they could continue to collect vintage items in the town.

After expressing their thanks several times, the two hurriedly left the underground trading market.

Chen Yu and Qin Mingxue exited through another door, where a dozen or so business cars were neatly lined up waiting for them.

“This must be Mr. Chen!” A rather sleazy-looking man walked up with great excitement.

Without a word, Chen Yu nodded and directly boarded the nearest car.

Qin Mingxue hurriedly followed suit.

Apart from her keen hearing, she didn’t have any particular talents. Once away from the underground trading market, she was just an ordinary woman.

With someone like Chen Yu by her side, she could feel a bit more secure.

The car drove for an unknown amount of time and finally stopped in front of a church.

From the outside, this place appeared to be a holy religious site, with a vast and majestic church and countless believers inside.

An elderly priest stood on an elevated platform, preaching from the Bible.

When Chen Yu first saw this scene, he thought it was a proper church. However, after activating the system scan, he realized this place was more than meets the eye.

There was a tunnel under the platform behind the church, where dozens of bosses had already gathered underground.

Each one wore a badge on their chest, which seemed to be a unique emblem of Jiang Province.

Two people dressed as nuns led them through the church and directly to the back, down into the tunnel.

Upon entering, Chen Yu immediately grabbed a chair and sat down in the principal seat.

The roomful of people instantly widened their eyes in shock—they hadn’t expected Chen Yu to be so brazen. An old man slapped the table outright.

“You really have the guts of a bear and the heart of a leopard, kid. Do you know where you are? How dare you be so arrogant!”

Chen Yu picked up a glass of red wine from the table and downed it in one gulp.

“Seems like you invited me here, didn’t you? So, can’t I take the principal seat?”

These words infuriated the old man, who became so livid and breathless that one of his bodyguards immediately drew a long knife and charged at Chen Yu.

As the guy got close, a blue-white light suddenly flickered, and his large body collapsed to the ground.

The place immediately fell silent, no one able to grasp what just happened.

Chen Yu didn’t care about their reactions. He lifted his finger and gently tapped on the table.

“I have no interest in your crap meeting. I agreed to come here only to offer personal protection to Ms. Qin! But now I’ve changed my mind. Everyone here must pay me five billion as compensation, or you all die.”

This sudden extortion startled everyone present.

These were influential figures in Jiang Province, and although they conducted shady dealings in private, they were always the ones doing the extorting.

Now, a young man in his twenties or thirties sat brazenly in front of them, demanding each hand over five billion, a bold challenge to their authority.

The elderly man immediately picked up his cane and shakily approached Chen Yu.
