Chapter 542 - Chapter 542 Minor Dialects (2/2)

“Alright, let’s get going quickly, or else someone else will come up looking to duel with you!”

Chen Yu sighed helplessly and hurried with Jin Lingsu to the airport.

The Sahara Desert is not only the largest desert in the world but also home to the most death zones.

The quicksand and bizarre magnetic fields that infest the area have snatched away countless lives, and the very mention of it changes many a face.

Yet every year, numerous expeditions travel from afar to tackle these extreme conditions.

However, a significant number of these people come for the legend of treasures said to be hidden within the desert.

Outside the Giza Airport at a car rental, Chen Yu and Jin Lingsu were picking out a vehicle.

To cross the desert, they needed a specially modified vehicle.

But within dozens of miles, this was the only rental that could provide such modified vehicles.

“I’ve told you two already, the price I’m offering is definitely the most reasonable, and our vehicles have a very good reputation!”

The owner rattled on about his cars in the local dialect.

Jin Lingsu stood there dumbfounded, not knowing how to bargain with the other party.

Catching the language barrier, the owner simply wrote down the price on a blackboard, and told them there would be no bargaining.

“Boss, aren’t you being a bit unreasonable? Are you taking advantage of us because we’re from out of town?”

Chen Yu suddenly spoke the local dialect fluently, startling the owner, and even Jin Lingsu couldn’t help but widen her eyes.

This dialect was known as one of the most difficult languages in the world, and few could master it; a foreigner like Chen Yu who spoke it so authentically was unheard of.

“Sir, you didn’t grow up around here, did you?”

The owner grabbed Chen Yu’s hand as if he had encountered a fellow townsman, shaking it vigorously.

“Let’s talk about the car,” Chen Yu withdrew his hand and walked over to a very imposing desert off-road vehicle.

“This vehicle, don’t talk to me about a deposit or rental fee, I’ll buy it outright. Give me a reasonable price.”

The owner hesitated.

The car in front of him was the best-modified vehicle in his shop; he had intended to keep it there to fleece a few unsuspecting foreigners for a hefty sum.

But he had not expected Chen Yu to speak their language, and so fluently at that.

The locals had an inexplicable faith in their language; anyone who could speak it was treated like family.

“Well then, I won’t ask for much, give me four million and it’s yours!”

Without much ado, Chen Yu pulled out a bank draft and handed it over.

The owner quickly pushed the keys to Chen Yu.

“Friend, you must come back to my place after you leave the desert. I’ll treat you to a drink.”

After exchanging a few pleasantries with them, Chen Yu drove off in the vehicle.

All the way, Jin Lingsu stared at Chen Yu with a look of surprise.

“I never would have thought that you could even speak such a niche language!”

Chen Yu shifted the steering wheel, “I just have an interest in languages and such.”

As they were talking, a modified truck suddenly burst out from the side of the road, followed by several cars, blocking the narrow road completely tight.
