Chapter 967 (1/2)

Chapter 967: 301. Avoid tragedy

Tonight was destined to be a sleepless night for Light Wizard Jay Spade.

Inside the ivory-white church building, thunder illuminated the gold-leaf-covered walls.

Beneath the sacred crystal chandeliers, a group of Pure Light Wizards stood around the central round table.

Their gazes fixed on the dark clouds flickering with lightning.

They chanted softly, releasing golden runes from the palms of their outstretched hands.

The runes fluttered like butterflies, lining up in formation, revolving around the clouds, gradually forming an inward-tightening golden halo.

“Boom…”

The clouds surged, and intense lightning appeared with deafening thunder.

Seemingly sensing the constraints of the golden halo, the wild clouds struggled momentarily.

They expanded, contracted, and several twisted flashes of lightning surged forth, striking the gilded wall but leaving no scorch marks behind.

The golden halo spun several circles around its axis, the dark clouds resisted fiercely, and the grand space was alive with flashes of lightning.

The lightning grew denser, and the cloud’s size rapidly diminished.

In the end, when nearly all of the thunder and lightning energy within the cloud had dissipated, everything settled down.

The cloud had lost the form of a “cloud.”

It now seemed to be encased in a spherical shell, changing from a flat shape into a rounded sphere.

Though it remained filled with dark vapors, under the contrast of the golden halo, it resembled a black gaseous celestial body with its own asteroid belt rather than a “cloud.”

The Pure Light Wizards around the round table lowered their hands.

Jay Spade was among them.

He took a deep breath and looked behind him.

On the high platform built from white stone bricks stood a figure in splendid attire.

Jay Spade approached the base of the platform, looked up, and said:

“Lord Paredes, Purifying Light Magic is not well-suited for controlling creations of lightning magic, yet we have ultimately succeeded. The cloud has been sealed by us, and it no longer poses a threat of uncontrollable energy dissipation.”

Paredes took a step forward, leaned on the high platform’s railing with both arms, and said, leaning over:

“You did well, Jay Spade. Now, go test the might of this wild magic. We need to ascertain its potential danger as soon as possible.”

“Yes, my lord.”

Jay Spade bowed in salute and turned back to the round table.

He gathered the Pure Light Wizards around him, issuing a few commands.

The ordered Light Wizards dispersed, cooperating in their respective tasks.

Some activated the magic circle, while others prepared the Magic Gems filled with thunder and lightning energy.

After more than ten minutes, several oddly shaped magical devices appeared around the round table.

These devices had front-narrow, back-wide metal barrels, magic chains capable of high-speed magical energy conduction, and wide, sturdy metal bases.

Jay Spade referred to these magical devices as ‘Magic Infusers.’
