The shadow fragments trapped within the rock cage were not spared either, one by one they were blasted into fumes by the lightning and disappeared from the ground level.
The rock cage itself, however, survived thanks to its decent resistance to thunder and lightning energy…
Aside from Noland Lee, there were no other life creatures or monsters at the scene.
“Hmm, not bad. The resistance of shadow creatures to thunder and lightning energy is a negative 10%. I only used 1 million points of thunder and lightning energy to obliterate 15 Crawling Fears. Without counting the wasted energy, the cost per Crawling Fear was merely 66,000 points of energy,” he calculated the combat data silently, and felt reassured.
Since thunder and lightning magic was so effective, there was no need for him to be as cautious as he had been before.
Noland Lee issued a command to the five Ground Drilling Mechanisms underground to drill full-force.
He then took out another 15 Spider Mechanisms and threw them into the three cave entrances on the wall.
Each entrance was scouted by five Spider Mechanisms.
Noland Lee multitasked, controlling twenty Mechanos at the same time through the “Mind Beacon” on his magic ring.
“If Nolin were here, that would be great. She’s much more adept at reconnaissance work than I am.”
Suddenly, Noland Lee slapped his forehead as a brilliant idea popped into his head!
“Eh? Right! If there’s no delay when I use ‘Mind View’ to observe Island 33, regardless of the distance, doesn’t that mean Nolin could also control the Mechanos from a distance without worrying about delay?”
Noland Lee believed this approach was feasible.
He manipulated his thoughts and selected the “Tracking Mark” on Nolin, sent out “Mind Induction,” and communicated with her across the distance.

Nolin was teaching Alchemy Class to Nicolette on the second underground level.
After receiving Noland’s command, she turned and sat next to the magic access meter.
She simultaneously activated two Thought Threads.
No.1 Mental Thread was used to attempt control of the Mechanos beside Noland.
No.2 Mental Thread was responsible for mapping the layout of the Moleman Cavern that Noland was in, on the magic access meter.
After several minutes of adjustment, Nolin successfully took over the control of the Ground Drilling Mechanism and the Spider Mechanism from Noland.
“Sir! I never thought I’d still be able to help you across such a distance!” Nolin cheered inwardly, her face brimming with a smile.
Noland Lee smiled and said,
“I’m also somewhat surprised. It seems Mental Magic is more profound than we imagined. But let’s not discuss that now, help me find the lair of the shadow creatures. Be cautious, I can’t be certain if the shadow creatures are able to inflict a ‘Shadow Mental Impact’ on you all the way in the Suman Archipelago. You’d better sever the connection with the Mechanos immediately upon spotting them.”
“Understood, Sir.”
After understanding the characteristics of the Crawling Fear and the shadow pupa cocoon, Nolin began to control the Mechanos to scout the path.
