Chapter 1021: 318. Hullabaloo_2

Noland Lee transferred the knowledge of the Magic Circle to Nolin, instructing her how to disable the Magic Circle and remove the magic materials and Shadow Gems attached to it.

The two of them chatted about “cosmic noise” as they carried out their tense retreat.

While deconstructing the storage unit on “Synthetic Human DKP-15”, Noland obtained knowledge related to “cosmic noise.”

Within the Metal Creation Group, “cosmic noise” was recognized as a type of “cosmic microwave background radiation.”

And the term “cosmic microwave background radiation” was often associated with “ancient.”

The Metal Creation Group believed that “cosmic microwave background radiation” resulted from the universe’s initial big bang.

The “radiation” left over from that explosion still echoes throughout the universe to this day.

If one used the correct instrument to “record” these “radiations” and convert them into audio, one would then be able to hear the “beep-beep bup-bup” sounds of the universe.

But here’s the problem, what does cosmic noise have to do with “extraterrestrial space pollution” and the “Pollution Zone”?

Why would the ceremony for communicating with outer space broadcast cosmic noise?

Noland and Nolin discussed and came up with a conjecture on this issue:

The ceremony for communicating with outer space was not originally meant to spread cosmic noise.

However, when the operator of the ceremony increased its energy intensity and strengthened the connection with outer space, the cosmic noise, as “background noise,” inevitably got amplified as well.

To establish a Pollution Zone in the Inner Cosmos, the extraterrestrial space pollution needs the energy intensity of the ceremony to reach its peak.

This then led to the phenomenon where the intensity of the cosmic noise rose in sync with the energy intensity of the ceremony.

This conjecture was hard to prove.

Because there was no way to completely block out cosmic noise.

It was like an invisible, intangible ghost, existing within any device, creature, or item.

Like wizards such as Noland, in theory, they were always surrounded by cosmic noise.

It was only because this sound existed in the form of “microwave radiation,” which couldn’t be directly heard, that he remained oblivious to it in most situations.

Only when one got near something like a ceremony for communicating with outer space would normal people be able to hear cosmic noise.

After some academic discussion, Noland and Nolin temporarily accepted this conjecture.

The two swiftly packed up the Device Spirits and magic materials and started to distance themselves from the troubled City of Exiles.

Noland had considered asking Denise Green to come and take him away.

But after mulling it over for a few minutes, he rejected the idea.

Hadn’t Professor Erica said so?

In the past half-year, the Mass Wizard Tombs had not observed any extraterrestrial space pollution events.

Noland was curious to see if the cosmic noise that appeared in the City of Exiles this time could attract a Pollution Zone.

If given the chance, he would also like to deconstruct a Pollution Zone to understand its origins and instigators.
