Chapter 1081 (1/2)
Chapter 1081: 339.Do not prevent
A peculiar spell light shone into the gloomy vertical corridor, illuminating the shortcut that went from Underground Layer 3 to the 79th Floor.
In the corridor, the abandoned lifting platform, the lack of maintenance on the chains, the paralyzed traction device, as well as smudges and scratches on the walls, were all exposed under this beam of light.
Especially that repairman who was perched upon the wall using an adhesion device and was cleaning the wall with alchemy tools.
He was startled by the sudden bright light and instinctively used his hands to cover his face, shielding his eyes from the direct rays.
“Damn it, watch the lighting, bastard, don’t shine it in my eyes,” the repairman shouted discontentedly.
Waves of magic equipped with a detection spell emanated from the entrance of the corridor and fell on the repairman, effecting no change.
“Captain, I’ve scanned him; he’s a repairman.”
Voices in conversation came from the entrance of the corridor.
“Never mind him, move on,” the leader leaped down, gracefully plummeting towards the distant exit of the corridor below.
Behind him, another nine figures followed.
The blinding light that could dazzle the eyes came from the visors of this group of people.
They ignored the repairman who spoke in harsh tones and passed by him directly.
The repairman rubbed his eyes, watching incredulously as the procession, not needing any alchemy items, slowly floated by and couldn’t help but gape.
The repairman’s gaze followed the group, a hint of a different color flashing in the depths of his eyes.
“I didn’t expect to find an acquaintance of mine among this team from the Pure Light Court.”
Noland Lee, disguised as a repairman, watched as the Light Wizards flew towards the corridor exit, his gaze sweeping over a four-circled wizard among the team.
Bella Langton, the Four-ring Luminescent Wizard bore that name.
When Noland Lee encountered the DSMI series Synthetic Humans on Captain Berkeley’s magic ship, it was Bella who was in charge of leading Noland to collect the evidence from the scene.
When Bella introduced himself, he only allowed Noland to call him by his first name, forbidding him to say his last name.
Bella explained that his family had a rule that forbade them from interacting with others using their last name before they became a Sixth Ring Luminescent Wizard.
Noland later carefully looked into the surname “Langton,” which was associated with the Lanti Family behind Grand Inquisitor Paredes of the Pure Light Court.
Since assuming the role of Grand Inquisitor meant severing ties with one’s family, Paredes did not use the surname Langton.
Going deeper, Bella Langton and Paredes must have had some blood relation between them.
But as to what kind of relatives they actually were, Noland did not know; at least it was not revealed in the information obtained from the Deconstruction Results.
The reason for this group of Pure Light Wizards coming to Fissure Corridor was also something Noland found out.
