Chapter 1153 (1/2)
Chapter 1153: 359. Contract guarantee?
Archelon, sealed within the Magic Orb, chattered on and on.
At first, he stayed on topic, but as he spoke, he veered off into his own life story.
He was originally an engineer in the Tatis Empire. During an accidental venture with the army into a tomb to repair a wall, he was caught by the Undead Cult and was later transformed into an undead spirit.
Because of his rich experience and excellent performance in construction, design, and management, he received preferential treatment from Demon Bone, bypassing the miserable stage of low-grade acolytes and directly becoming a cultivator-level existence.
At that time, Archelon thought he had hit the jackpot, encountering a truly respected and virtuous ruler.
But later, he realized that some people who seemed to be alive were actually better off dead.
After becoming an undead spirit, he only needed to replenish his soul energy to maintain a lively state of mind, never knowing exhaustion.
Since becoming a subordinate to Demon Bone, Archelon had not rested for even a day, working day and night, only able to relax and dance a bit, listen to songs when his stomach was at work.
He was quite kind to his own subordinates, though.
Whether those living corpses and skeletons understood the concept of rest or not, he would let them lie down and sleep underground after working for a while.
Anyway, Archelon had had enough; he was desperate to escape this ghostly place.
He had plotted to leave the territory of the Undead Cult and live as a Death Wizard somewhere outside of Alchemist Island.
But with high-level battle spirits all around, he was not a combat wizard and had not learned the invisibility spell, so there were no chances for him to see the light of day again.
Now, Archelon saw hope!
A mysterious and unknown Mighty Extraordinary Individual had appeared before him!
Though their meeting was a bit unfriendly, it didn’t matter; he was already dead. Patched up with undead materials and soul energy, he could have a brand-new body.
The key was his soul.
As long as the soul of an undead spirit did not perish, there was the possibility of infinite resurrection.
For the sake of his soul, Archelon would do anything, even betray his current boss if necessary.
No, spit, what kind of lousy boss.
After working for it for so long, he hadn’t even gotten the remuneration he deserved, just some spell books, cultivation potions, meditation rooms, that sort of stuff.
Archelon had no interest in these.
What he wanted was freedom and the wealth that came with it after achieving freedom!
“Stop babbling and get to the point,” Noland Lee interrupted Archelon’s chatter with a cold voice:
“Tell me, what were you doing just now? What plans does Demon Bone have for the future?”
