Chapter 8 (1/2)

Eight Years of Blankness

“You haven’t eaten much. Why are you in such a hurry to leave? There’s even soup specially made for you in the kitchen…” Her stepmother stood up half-jokingly to persuade him to stay, but Lu Yunxiao didn’t even turn around.

“I wonder who his temper is like! He’s getting more and more overboard! Does he still care about our family? To think that you worked all afternoon for this meal.” Chairman Lu put down his chopsticks and was no longer in the mood to eat.

“Don’t be angry, Hubby. No matter what, Yunxiao is still a child. Why would I lower myself to his level? As his elder, I’ll tolerate him as much as I can. It’s fine. After all, he’s our only child. Besides, if I don’t treat him well, how am I going to explain it to Sister when I go down there in the future?” Du Meihong coaxed Lu Guo’an gently. His gloomy expression gradually improved. It was obvious that he enjoyed it.

Lu Yunxiao left the villa and got into the car. In the dark car, Lu Yunxiao lit a cigarette and took a deep puff.

“Let’s go, Uncle Wang.”

“Okay, where are we going?”

“Deer’s Cry Hot Springs.”

“Yes.”

It was not because Lu Yunxiao liked to soak in the hot spring, but because this place was run by his good friend, Wang Jiangbei. Hence, they often drank and talked here during their free time.

“Young Master, there’s already news about Miss Jiang.” The driver, Uncle Wang, whose sideburns had already turned slightly white, was respectful.

“Yes, tell me.” Lu Yunxiao leaned back in his chair lazily. The cigarette between his fingers was already half gone.

“Miss Jiang studied in Ocean City’s No. 1 Primary School before she was 10 years old. Her results were top in the class, and she had a good relationship with her classmates. There were basically no special circumstances. After she turned 18, she returned from studying abroad and studied for a doctorate at Ocean City University. However, she almost didn’t go to class. Instead, she often went out to play alone. Every time she went out, it would take at least half a month and she almost didn’t stay in Ocean City permanently. Hence, her relationship with Xu Yuning seemed to be average.”

“What about the eight years she studied abroad?” Lu Yunxiao was resting with his eyes closed, and his voice was slightly hoarse.

“This is also what I want to tell you. Miss Jiang’s experience in the past eight years is completely blank. I can’t find anything.”

“You can’t find anything?” He slowly opened his eyes, and a meaningful look flashed across his dark eyes.
