Chapter 40 (1/2)

I’ll Teach You

“Then let’s go home,” Qi Shenbai said and moved to take the boxes from Xu Jiaojiao’s hands.

Xu Jiaojiao quickly avoided him. “No need, no need. They’re not heavy.”

Qi Shenbai’s brows furrowed, but he did not insist. Xu Jiaojiao looked gentle and friendly, but she always kept a safe distance from people she was not familiar with.

Xu Jiaojiao followed Qi Shenbai out of the bar. When they passed by the stairs, Xu Jiaojiao did not pay attention and missed a step. She lost control and was about to fall forward. Qi Shenbai quickly grabbed her arm and forcefully pulled her into his arms. His large palm firmly held the back of her head, as if he wanted to press her into his chest.

For a moment, the world seemed to have quietened down. Xu Jiaojiao’s heart was pounding, and the faint wooden fragrance of Qi Shenbai’s body spread out from the tip of her nose, enveloping her along with the evening breeze.

Qi Shenbai lowered his head and looked at the little head in his arms. His strong arms held her soft little body. She was hidden in his arms, so obedient that it made him want to ravage her.

Xu Jiaojiao was the first to react and took a step back. Qi Shenbai naturally let go of her, but the emptiness in his arms made him purse his thin lips.

“Thank you.” Xu Jiaojiao’s curly eyelashes trembled slightly. The moment she met Qi Shenbai’s eyes, she quickly lowered her head.

Qi Shenbai did not say anything. His gaze fell on the boxes on the ground. The things inside had fallen out, along with a few books. He strode forward with his slender legs and bent down to pick up the box before picking up the books again.

Xu Jiaojiao turned around and saw that Qi Shenbai’s hand was about to touch the erotic comics. She stopped him with a panicked expression. “No, don’t…”

Unfortunately, it was already too late. The wind mischievously blew open a page of the book. When Qi Shen’s fair fingers picked up the comic, he noticed that it was not an ordinary book. There were drawings of men and women entangled together in it, and sound effects to boot.

Xu Jiaojiao rushed down and snatched the comic back, hiding it behind her back. Her face was red as she said, “T-This isn’t mine. I’m keeping it for Luoluo.” After saying that, she licked her lips and looked at Qi Shenbai pitifully, as if she was asking him if he believed her.

Qi Shen’s eyes darkened without batting an eyelid. His gaze lingered on Xu Jiaojiao’s rosy lips for a moment before he nodded gently. “Okay.”

So he believed her? Xu Jiaojiao was in disbelief.

“But you’re still young. These things aren’t suitable for you. I’ll keep them for you first,” Qi Shenbai said slowly.

“Ah?” Xu Jiaojiao was stunned for a moment before she shook her head. “No need, no need. This isn’t mine…”
