She had not expected him here and her eyes brightened as she heard that. She did not dwell on the question of why was he here and said, “I do really need your help with something. I need a good lawyer, urgently!”

“A good lawyer is easy enough to find, we have a few in the corporation. I noticed you’re not doing well these few days and have helped you applied leave from Bro Ting. A month long paid leave, go and relax.”

Huo Li noticed that she was trying hard to stay strong and that unbearable thought flashed through his eyes.

Based on what he knew, Mayor Lin did engage in corrupt activities and he was not framed on this matter.

But the amount of money had suddenly increased in the last two months.

“Your father’s situation is rather delicate. The amount involved is huge and even with the best lawyers, the best result is a reduction in the years of imprisonment, there’s no other way.”

Huo Li said as he lifted his hand suddenly and patted her shoulder gently.

It was just a gentle gesture but Lin Yazhi’s shoulder fell.

Huo Li immediately hugged his arm as that happened. “Thank you Huo Li, I never thought you would actually understand me that well. I am very stressed lately and my hair had been dropping like crazy, I was wondering how do I even approach the boss to get my leave. You’re the best!”

Huo Li stiffened and quickly stole a glance at Huo Yunting. He scratched his head in embarrassment.

He had simply noticed that something was off with her and wanted to help her out a little. He never thought that she would be quite touched like that.

His mind was almost made to run wild as her body laid on him together with the fair scent of a young woman.

Lin Yazhi stepped back before he could fully enjoy it however.

“After things get settled, I’ll save up and treat you to a big meal. I’m broke nowadays…”

She was the typical paycheck to paycheck sort of worker.

“Broke?” Huo Li acted all cool as he pulled out a bank card from his wallet. “No password. Use it for the time being.”
