Chapter 698: Set Up! (1/2)

While at the same time, Wen He was bored out of her mind in her room that she actually decided to look at cooking recipes. Even she herself felt she was going crazy in her boredom.

And there she was, in the kitchen, facing her iPad for instructions on how to make soup as she wore a new blue apron. Her short hair being tied up high as it revealed her delicate face.

As she was half-way through, she heard footsteps outside.

“You’re back, why so early today? I’m not done cooking yet!” She smiled as he walked in. “It’s those food stuff your friends sent over, how did they know I was looking into cooking lately?”

Huo Chen stopped, slightly dazed, at the moment she poked her head out of the kitchen. He thought he saw Yangyang.

And the moment she spoke, his senses returned to him.

“I don’t know.” He walked to the bathroom.

Wen He sighed for a little. She knew that while he have said that he had let it go. He was still conflicted inside or else why would he torture the new recruits this time around.

Someone even came to her in secret to complain!

Perhaps…

She looked at the boiling pot of soup before her. Was this a bribe so that she would speak for them?

Very quickly Huo Chen came out from the bathroom and Wen He was still cutting veges in the kitchen. As she was not used to this, her progress was excrutiatingly slow.

After changing into a simple house garb, he went into the kitchen and looked at the messy stove.

“You….probably could work with a gun, a knife, forget about it.”

“I can do work with a knife. Don’t believe me when I say I held my ground against many with a knife?”

“Get up,” He rolled up his sleeve. “Let me.”

“No, don’t you come interrupting me while I’m halfway done, no sense of accomplishment then! Get out!” Wen He gave him a disdainful look as she chased him out of the kitchen.

“I’m worried that the kitchen is beyond cleaning later.” Her cooking was no different than a battle.

“You don’t have to worry. I’ll handle everything!”

While he was not convinced, Huo Chen was in no mood to argue and left the kitchen.

But when Wen He saw the kitchen in its total glorious mess, she started regretting it.
