The mansion was lined with a few Osmanthus plants and flowery scent filled the air.

Wen He was surprised. “So I’ll be staying here from now on?”

“Yes, it’s a bit of a distance from the base, you won’t be disturbed.” He said as he stopped the car. He had not lived here for a long while.

After all, living in the army dorm felt closer to him and was convenient.

“If I’ve known I should have complained to you earlier and don’t have to be disturbed by the morning exercises every morning.”

She plucked a flower along the way and smelled it before following him into the house.

It had a simple beige-colored interior and the furniture was simple yet tasteful.

Huo Chen even hired an auntie over to clean and cook for her.

The two sat face to face as they ate and Huo Chen was elegant as ever with proper table manners.

After finishing his meal, he put down the bowl and chopsticks, “Rest well. I still have something to do.”

“Oh, go on then…..” She too wanted to catch up on some sleep.

When she woke up, the auntie told her that he had called and said he would not be coming back tonight.

Was she going to stay here alone?

“What is he thinking? Leaving her just like that!”

Wen He demurred as she stabbed the bowl with her chopsticks.

After finishing her dinner hastily, Wen He was still concerned and took the car keys as she headed outside.

She wanted to see what he was up to!

But the moment she got into the car and started the engine, she suddenly had doubts.

She was not Huo Chen’s soldier and what’s the point of her going back there? To join in on the training?

So she got down, went up, took a shower all in one go before sprawling on all fours on the bed. Yet she could not sleep.

She thought of waiting for him to return but even until late at night he did not return.

And the next day, there were no news of Huo Chen and he could not even be reached on his phone.
