Song Shou took the package from her and went back inside. The heavy doors closed behind him.

“Military protocol?” She pouted. “Huo Chen! If you don’t come home tonight, don’t ever think about getting in bed with me again!”

She yelled loudly before leaving.

The fact was, nothing had happened between them again ever since that fateful night.

She said those words specifically to embarrass Huo Chen.

The officers who happened to be nearby heard her voice and had to suppress their laughter.

Fortunately, the interrogation room had excellent soundproofing. Huo Chen did not know what just happened outside.

At least until Song Shou sent the packed dinner to him.

He took one look at the package and knew that Wen He was here.

“Are you full?” He looked at Lu Bai opposite him and pointed at his packed dinner. “There’s more here.”

Lu Bai threw a flat look at it and shook his head. “I’m done. Let’s get down to business.”

Huo Chen closed the document he was reading and tapped his finger on it. “You play a very integral role in the organization when it comes to killing other people.”

“The organization is dead and I did not personally kill anyone. What evidence do you have on me?”

“Members of the organization are all wanted criminals in this country. You know this.”

“Then kill me!” Lu Bai laid back in his steel-cold chair. “Give me the death sentence and be done with this.”

“We are not quite there yet. There are some minor issues with our latest weapons R&D. If you can help us solve them, you get to live.”

Lu Bai was an exceptionally talented weapons expert. He was the reason the organization was always equipped with cutting edge weapons, and that nearly cost Huo Chen’s life years ago.

“I want nothing to do with your weapons, just kill me!”

Father was gone. He and Wen He were the only ones left from the organization.

Nevertheless… he had not gotten revenge for Ol’ Jiu yet.

The thought made him hesitate.
