6 First encounter (1/2)

Tian Long smiled while looking at the woman and said. ”Adventuring in such a dangerous place while suffering from a poison, should I call you dumb or brave?

Jian Meili was startled and thought. 'He knows that I'm poisoned with a single glance. I also can't sense his cultivation. He's definitely a supreme expert.'

She cupped her hands together and replied after a moment. ”Senior, I left my home to temper myself out in the wilderness. However, I was poisoned by a peak Level-5 Demonic beast(King Grade) during a battle. After killing it, I took a stop in this forest which I just found out to be the Lonely Devilwood Forest.”

Tian Long laughed. ”What 'Senior'? I'm only 19 you know.”

Jian Meili was shocked. ”19?! So you're not a supreme expert that uses a youth retaining method to look younger?”

He replied blandly. ”How can I be an old man? Look at me, I'm full of vigor that someone young should have.”

Jian Meili was still dazed from the shock she experienced so she couldn't hear what he said. 'A 19 years old that's stronger than me? Even in my peak condition? I can't believe this.'

Still, Jian Meili was a person that has already experienced a great number of things, she knew that this world was infinitely large, containing powers that even she didn't know of. It only took her a few breaths before she regained her calm.

Tian Long noticed the changes in her expression as he nodded and thought. 'She's definitely deserving of being a supreme genius of this era. System, is there anything in the shop that could cure her poison?'

[ Ding! The host could use 600 apex points to buy a {Clear Qi Pill}. This pill would be able to cure her poison while improving her physique at the same time. ]

He nodded. '{Clear Qi Pill}, this pill once saved me so it's definitely a great solution for this.'

Tian Long offered to the woman. ”Would you like to return with me to my cave and recuperate there? It's clear of surrounding demonic beasts and is pretty clean.”

Jian Meili's eyes flashed and as she hesitated. 'I'm injured and poisoned while he's stronger than me so he could definitely...'

Tian Long knew what she was thinking so he interrupted her thoughts and made a vow to the heavens. ”I, Tian Long shall never harm Miss Jian Meili until she is able to solver her injuries. If I violate this oath then the heavens shall strike me down.”

He then looked at her and helplessly said. ”Is that enough? I already made an oath to the heavens and I don't want to die yet so you don't have to worry about me trying to kill you.”

Even though Jian Meili was a bit suspicious as he clearly knew her name, she still accepted his offer.

After they returned to his cave, Tian Long then remembered something. 'I completely forgot about those gift packs! Just by leveling up to Energy Refining already gave me plentiful of rewards. I need to see what I'll get this time.'

Tian Long said in his mind. 'System open the two gift packs.'

[ Ding! Opening gift pack...10%...30%...70%...100%! Opening. ]

He excitedly grinned.

Hearing all those rewards left Tian Long full of glee.

While walking back, Jian Meili asked out of curiosity. ”Hey, your name is Tian Long right? I remembered when you gave an oath. But how could you know my name when I never met you before?”

Tian Long lightly answered. ”Indeed it is my name. Also, how can I not know of the Sublime Sword Empire's greatest genius? Miss Jian Meili's fame resounds throughout this world.”

She nodded her head as this answer cleared her suspicions because she knew herself how famous she was.

Finally reaching the cave-base of operations, Tian Long started a fire and cooked some Level-4 Demonic Beast meat that he got as item drops.

(Note: Demonic Beasts meat are highly nutritious as they contain heavenly energy within and can nourish one's body. Higher level meat = better.)

They chatted as they ate, trying to get to know each other.
