Today was the seventh day of the seventh lunar month. It was Chinese Saint Valentine's Day. Zheng Xiaoguang's company kindly let all of its employees have a day off today. As such, Zheng Xiaoguang slept until 10 am this morning. After lying in bed for another half an hour, she slowly got up.

She was left alone in the apartment, which had three bedrooms, one living room and one dining room. Her parents joined a package tour and left early in the morning. Most of her friends and relatives also went out to enjoy the festival.

She shuffled to the living room and watched TV to kill time. The moment she turned on the TV, she saw a family drama about mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. The vicious mother-in-law was pointing at the poor daughter-in-law and lambasting her, asking her to divorce her son.

Zheng Xiaoguang had seen this family drama before. This mother-in-law had despised her daughter-in-law since her son had gotten married to this girl. When she was provoked by her married daughter, she became even more unsatisfied with her daughter-in-law and encouraged her son to divorce this girl. In the end, her son was forced to divorce his wife due to filial piety.

This story told the audience that a relationship disapproved by one's parents was difficult to maintain.

It was a good family drama, but as Zheng Xiaoguang had watched it before, she did not want to watch it anymore. She fumbled for the remote controller and planned to watch some variety show. Right at this moment, her cellphone rang. She picked it up and found out that the call was from Blooming Pear Tree.

”Hi, Xiaoguang. I've reached your apartment building,” said Blooming Pear Tree.

Zheng Xiaoguang was a little excited upon hearing his voice and asked, ”Why do you suddenly come here, big brother?”

He had never told her that he was going to visit her today.

”I haven't seen you for quite a long time. I just want to meet you,” said Blooming Pear Tree. ”Is there anyone else in your apartment? Is it convenient for you to come down now?”

”I'm at home by myself. Please take the elevator and come up. I'll open the door for you,” replied Zheng Xiaoguang.

After talking with her big brother on the phone, she hurriedly straightened everything up in the living room. When she had just tidied up the room, she heard the doorbell ring.

She hurriedly opened the door and saw Blooming Pear Tree standing outside.

He was about 182 centimeters tall and looked sturdy. He had thick eyebrows and big eyes. His skin was nicely-tanned and smooth. As it was quite hot today, he wore only a light blue shirt and a pair of black jeans.

”Please come in.” Zheng Xiaoguang invited him into her apartment and asked, ”Aren't you always busy with your work, big brother? Why do you suddenly have time to see me?”

Blooming Pear Tree was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. His father was a real estate developer who had made loads of money during the past several years, and his mother ran franchised hotels and owned a lot of properties.

Despite that, he earned his own living by working as an engineer instead of flaunting his wealth and enjoying his life. Because of this, Zheng Xiaoguang respected him a lot.

As he was always busy with different projects on construction sites, he seldom had time to meet Zheng Xiaoguang.

Upon hearing Zheng Xiaoguang's question, Blooming Pear Tree walked into the living room and asked, ”What? Are you suggesting that I'm not welcome here?”

”No, big brother. You're welcome here.” Zheng Xiaoguang said and then turned around, planning to go to the kitchen to make tea for him. Blooming Pear Tree stopped her.

”You don't need to make tea for me, Xiaoguang. It's almost noon now. Let's go downstairs to have lunch together,” said Blooming Pear Tree.

”Okay,” Zheng Xiaoguang smiled and said. ”Big brother, now that you've come to R City to visit me, you have to let me give you a treat. I know a good fish restaurant in the city. Let's go there.”

Blooming Pear Tree touched her head and said, ”Okay.”
