The two guards settled on this, realising that they weren't going to sway any opinions using buzzwords like honour and duty They quickly retreated out of the building, getting sworn at by the crowd, but they all quietened down the second they left

"Now that they're gone, lets have a chat" The bartender still looked annoyed, but this tieted towards Merlin himself "You asked me about Sir Red dozens of people before breaking into the Reded his corpse down the street"

"And this monster just so happens to perfectly match the description of the monster who massacred the bandit fort" The bartender continued, "Now, can you honestly tell ht now that the two situations aren't connected, and that this is a really unfortunate coincidence?"

After hearing that, Merlin realised that it didn't exactly look good for him, but he could probably explain it away Merlin couldn't respond right away, instead he spent a few seconds cohts

"Well It's not a coincidence" Merlin revealed his cursed ar the bartender that the few spots he saw a few days ago had now spread to the point it enveloped Merlin's entire arhost a week ago? It's the saht"

The bartender looked at the arust In his defence, it did look like some nasty disease that would be easily spread, and overall it didn't look very appealing

"I'm a victi interesting" Merlin began explaining, "When the monster invaded the mansion, Sir Redht be?"

The bartender's face briefly showed a surprised expression before reverting back to the stern frown he was using up until that point The bartender let out a sharp exhale before speaking

"I don't think there isn't a person in this roo you of course" The bartender spoke, "She was the original owner of the Rosewater bathhouse She used to grow every single rose herself, in her own private garden"

"She was a kind soul, a noble woman who treated co everyone as she tended to her garden everyto her as the fairy of the rose garden" The bartender laughed to hi "She was kind and compassionate, but what made her especially famous was that she was beautiful"
