Chapter 84: Talking with Ghosts (2/2)
Fang Niu trembled with trepidation as he cautiously looked towards the door, but since the latrine’s door was made of wood, he simply couldn’t see what was happening outside.
‘How did he know that I was near a door?’
‘Oh yes, he must be deceiving me! I mentioned earlier that I was in the toilet, and there’s surely a door near it.’
However, in the next instant, Fang Niu abruptly thought of something.
He backtracked their conversation like a mad man to look at their previous messages.
He went rigid as he stared at ‘Guess Who I Am’s’ first message, his expression looking stupefied as if he had quickly died and turned into a zombie, his eyes were full of dread!
“You’re awake.”
As it turned out, this wasn’t a question but a sentence.
The person who sent this message wasn’t completely sure if he was awake or not, rather, he was certain that he was already awake!
‘Who? Who exactly is this person?’
‘Could it be that he really is…’
Fang Niu quivered in fear. He was so scared that he was unsettled when holding his phone.
But soon, two new messages that had just popped up made him feel even more scared than he did earlier.
[Guess Who I Am: Open the door!]
[Guess Who I Am: OPEN THE DOOR NOW!]
Fang Niu set his phone to the side, not daring to look at it again.
He felt absolutely terrified, so he tore some pieces of the yellow straw paper with his teeth, carelessly wiped his butt, and then hurriedly put on his pants. He squatted on the side, shivering, not risking to flush the water, even more so to go outside.
He had no visuals of the outside, but he could sense that there really was a person there!
In other words, there’s a ghost standing outside the door!
Fang Niu shuddered at the thought of a ghost guarding the door.
He held his breath, not making a single sound, for fear that the ghost would barge in.
Fang Niu curled up and shivered inside the toilet, making up his mind that he would wait until morning or wait until another person to use the toilet before he would leave.
However, not long after, a thing that made his eyes split happened——
The door was slowly opening!
Fang Niu suddenly thought of something and quickly planned on calling his girlfriend, hoping for Bai Cui to call the group of travelers up to help save him.
But, as he entered his passcode and unlocked his phone, the door was completely open.
Fang Niu stiffly lifted his head and saw a sinister mutilated ghost through the door. He opened his mouth wide to call for help, but no sound came through.
The ghost choked him.
He was akin to a dead chicken, desperately struggling in the air. Yet, what made him even more terrified was that no matter how much he kicked around, his surroundings remained silent.
He ferociously kicked the large water containment unit, but it was as if the sound was absorbed, disappearing without a trace.
Everything seemed like a mime theater, and he was the clumsy clown carrying out an amusing performance.
Fang Niu thoroughly lost all hope.
With the sinister ghost still clutching on his throat, his face gradually swelled purple, and his eyes that were wide from fear closed as he slowly lost consciousness…
The sinister ghost threw Fang Niu to the ground like he was garbage.
And on the ice-cold ground, Fang Niu was similar to a deflated balloon, his flesh continuing to sink, and soon, his bones were nowhere to be found, only leaving a thin hollow shell of a person.
The sinister ghost stood at the side as it conveniently grabbed the hollow shell and trembled in the air.
In a short while, the deflated hollow skin was filling with air, swelling like a large balloon, bulging out, and in a blink of an eye, the human shell returned to Fang Niu’s appearance.
Other than its vicious eyes, the sinister ghost was just like Fang Niu, and there was nothing else different from this ‘Fang Niu’ and the original.
His eyes, his nose, his mouth… even his clothes were exactly the same.
The sinister ghost put Fang Niu down and quickly disappeared out of sight.
As for ‘Fang Niu,’ he revealed an evil expression, but first, he went back to the toilet and used the water ladle to flush the latrine.
Then, he pulled the door open with a heavy strength and closed the door, as though he had just finished using the toilet, grabbing his phone and naturally passed through the yard, going back to his room with the sleeping Bai Cui and laying down beside her…

“Fang Niu?” In the East Room, Kenta asked using a whisper.
Bai Yan nodded his head without making another sound, continuing to watch the bottom opening of the window. Hearing the sounds made, Fang Niu must have gotten up to go to the toilet, which wasn’t really out of the ordinary.
However, in the end, he was out on his own, so they still shouldn’t let their guard down.
Taking note of this matter, Bai Yan continued to stare at the window without moving. Occasionally, he would take a peek at the others in the room to make sure nothing unexpected had happened, that no one had silently disappeared and had been swapped off.
The endless night watch had finally ended.
It was exactly five o’clock.
Bai Yan was tired beyond words. He rubbed his slightly red eyes and shook the sleeping Ye Shangyu awake, “Stop sleeping and change shifts.”
Ye Shangyu was in a daze but immediately got up and opened her eyes.
As she sobered up, her eyes regained focus, seeing Bai Yan point at the window, indicating to her to look over there.
Then, Bai Yan laid on the bed and exhaustedly closed his eyes. His quick breaths turned into slow even ones, and even the roosters crowing at the chicken coop in the yard didn’t wake up from his dreaming state…
When someone had woken him up, it was already 10:30 AM.
