Chapter 55: Them (1/2)

This won’t do. She needed to pull the leg out!

From far away, countless showerheads continued to spit water out. Ye Shangyu knew that if she didn’t unclog the drain hole, the water level would slowly reach the ceiling and would ultimately result in everyone inside the bathroom to drown.

Ye Shangyu used her hand to take a steady hold of the leg, using her strength to haul. However, the leg was thoroughly jammed into the hole, so she could only do her best to pull the leg out.

The leg was squeezed so tightly by the drain to the point of deformation, the leg molding into the shape of the drainpipe. One touch was all it took for someone to know that this wasn’t a normal person’s leg.

At this moment, Ye Shangyu didn’t care whether this was a dead person’s leg or a ghost’s leg. She threw away the wretched leg and quickly went up the water to breathe.

Some were even dragged down by the hair and ghosts on their arms and legs, basically preventing them to stay afloat.

If this continued, they would suffer more and more casualties.

The water level rising was far too swift. This back and forth would just waste precious time. If she resurfaced to catch her breath, there may not be another opportunity like this later.

Besides, staying in this cold water made her body rigid all over, causing her movements to get slower with each passing second. If she didn’t completely pull them all out right now, she wouldn’t be able to swim up and then dive down again!

Ye Shangyu pushed herself to overcome her situation, doing her all to unclog the seemingly growing severed limbs from the hole as if she were pulling radishes out of the ground.

After throwing away up to seven arms and eight legs, the drain finally stopped sprouting an endless stream of radish-like limbs.

Ye Shangyu felt a small whirlpool forming by the base of her feet as the streams of water began to seep into the growing vortex. All the severed limbs were gone and won’t come out again. She swam up, her head quickly emerging from the water.

At this moment, the water had already risen to the ceiling. Ye Shangyu did all she could to raise her head, only managing to expose her nose out in the air.

Ye Shangyu greedily breathed in the stale air, quickly giving her burning lungs some breath of relief.

She listened closely, her surroundings were already devoid of screams and crying.

Only sounds of splashing water could be heard nearby as if the remaining survivors were struggling to stay afloat.

The rising rate of the water was particularly quick and was also particularly unnatural.

However, the rate of water subsiding was quite slow.

Ye Shangyu was floating on the water for quite some time before she finally felt the floor.

Ye Shangyu immediately lowered her head to look at the floor tiles, and on top of the floor tiles laid her phone.

With the app’s upgrades, this phone was waterproof as well as shockproof, so it could never be broken.

As for the other one, it was already completely ruined by the water.

Ye Shangyu cautiously picked up her phone, and just in case, she resisted opening it inside the bathroom.

She then raised her eyes and looked around. The drain resumed its calm state, only a light stream of water was flowing towards the floor drain, but it was almost out.

By the door, dozens of women’s bodies piled on top of each other, effectively blocking the door.

From not too far away, there also laid several girls’ bodies. Only one was able to keep a weak state of consciousness, her back leaning against the wall for support as she feebly panted for air. Her mouth appeared to mutter calls for help, but her voice did not come through.

Only one ghost story for the player had brought about numerous deaths.

“Hey, are you still alive?” Ye Shangyu gaped her mouth as she panted, exerting herself to utter these words.

Not caring about the barely conscious girl, Ye Shangyu was now by the door in front of the pile of bodies, looking for Chai Xiaohe while pushing away the people she didn’t know.
