Chai Xiaohe had already begun washing herself, while Ye Shangyu seemed like she wasn’t in a hurry to get herself wet.

Despite wearing a bath towel and being in the communal bathroom, it still wasn’t warm enough. Ye Shangyu was putting her toiletries on the stand, and after, turned to the direction of the inner parts of the bathroom, generally trying to understand the structure of the communal area.

There were a total of 40 shower heads inside the girl’s bathroom with only 30 being deemed usable.

Although it was a holiday, there were still a lot of people who went to take a shower, causing all of the showerheads to be fully used.

Because almost everyone was taking a shower, the drainage system inside the girl’s communal bathroom couldn’t keep up with the water they were using.

As a result, a semi-thick layer of goopy used water covered the bathroom floor. If one were to go through the bathroom, their sandals will be fully immersed in the swamp-like water.

As Ye Shangyu walked across the bathroom, the filthy water mixed with used shampoo and shower gel continuously splashed on her ankles, disgusting her in the process.

Ye Shangyu flicked her slippers and let the nauseating sewage water flow into the crevices of her feet. Her brows remained furrowed as she went around inside the bathroom.

Hot water poured down on Ye Shangyu’s body. She used the water to dampen her hair but didn’t apply her shampoo, only beginning to wash her body.

Upon seeing this in her peripheral vision, Chai Xiaohe asked, “Shangyu, won’t you wash your hair?”

“I washed it yesterday.”

Ye Shangyu replied this simple reason to Chai Xiaohe, but in her heart, this wasn’t the real cause at all.

When washing one’s hair, one’s eyes will be closed because of oncoming foam from the top of one’s head. And, in this game, not being able to see with one’s eyes would leave anyone in a dangerous situation. Even if it were for only a few seconds, it would already be enough for a ghost to do a dirty little trick on her.

The hot water was falling on her head, but Ye Shangyu’s eyesight was still leveled to the wall. Even if hot water was splashed in her eyes, she only needed to blink to keep her vision clean.

Soon, her whole body was wet and as Ye Shangyu was absent-mindedly smearing shower gel, her eyes didn’t stop sweeping across the area, secretly keeping guard for the ghost story that could appear at any time.

“Sss—— So cold!”

The door of the girl’s bathroom suddenly burst open.

Gazing at the wide-open door, Chai Xiaohe angrily said, “Does that person not have any common sense? She’s already a college student, and she still doesn’t know how to close the door properly! Does she want me to freeze!”

At this moment, Chai Xiaohe regretted her decision of going along with her roommate. If she knew that this would happen, then she wouldn’t have listened to Ye Shangyu’s decision. At the door, people came and went, but not everyone closed the door properly.

Unable to bear the constant gusts of cold wind, Chai Xiaohe ran towards the door and closed it with frustration.

Ye Shangyu frowned in response.

In this circumstance, closing the door was equivalent to closing off an escape route.

However, it was Chai Xiaohe that took the initiative to close the door. In truth, she also didn’t want to close it again, but there was a woman who had just finished bathing and went out. She pulled open the door and entered the changing room, and just like the others before her, she didn’t close the door as well.

“Damn! It’s a never ending cycle!”

Chai Xiaohe planned on angrily closing the door once more, but Ye Shangyu promptly stopped her, “We’ll still be showering here for a while. If you close it again, there’s no telling if the next one to go through would close the door. Don’t bother with it anymore.”

“Hai, if I knew about this earlier, I wouldn’t have listened to you. We should have gone in more and taken our showers there.” Chai Xiaohe sighed.

“There’s no room inside. We’d have to stand in line.” Ye Shangyu said apologetically, “Let’s just bear with it a bit more and leave, then everything will be okay.”

Chai Xiaohe didn’t say anything else as she locked the numerous and snarky remarks she wanted to say deep in her heart.
