306 Wasting The Talent Away (1/2)

They fell into a routine with nothing but coordination. Lei Xinyi avoided the subject that would lead to his outburst and he became overly tender while dealing with her. But nothing deterred her perception; she still firmly believed that this was all a ruse as she should.

They belonged to two different worlds and no consensual feeling would deter the fact but she gave up trying to battle it out with him and he stopped persisting it over her.

They fell in a chorus of events. Li Yuan woke her up before the sun by his consuming kisses and worked out then he taught her new moves, she improved tremendously. Her skills were rusted but she had a good base making it easy for her to follow his every lead.

She observed him combat with his Elite subordinates which included Ji Zhou, her drives whose name she learned was Qin Shen and Qin Wentian who were cousins and her shadow guard. The last one was Lou Wei who was Li Yuan's shadow guard.

They were Elites and led with their Teams and were responsible for running different operations. Li Yuan had offered her to show her his Head Quarters as Office was off-limits because of the lingering eyes but she politely declined as it would be nothing but trouble.

Li Yuan had plucked out several thorns from her side but there were several remaining- that's what he had said. Sometimes she felt like he was delaying it deliberately to keep her here but then she would shake her head at the absurd thoughts she conjured.

She flipped the page in utter boredom. The book was on herbs but she had spent her whole life studying so nothing interested her enough to keep flipping. There wasn't much she could do around in the mansion and Su Qing was busy shooting her new Chick-Flick.

While Lu Xinyi was probably in Venice with Yu Youhan who had taken there for the week for her 'first' kiss.

She almost wanted to puke at the mushiness, weirdos! How crazy is this? You can simply have your first kiss on a couch when no one is looking!

He Zheng is busy with his college or so he says. There was something really disturbing about his newly acquired attitude that rubbed her the wrong way but she was letting him be for the time being.

Li Yuan had asked her if she wanted to join his office but she had passed it with a scoff. It was one of the places she will prefer before hell. So here she was drowning herself in teas and death stares.

In the eerie silence of the Herb Green House, his footsteps were a prominent entity. She kept her eyes still at the book but her ears were picking up the sounds trying to diagnose the issue.

It wasn't in his expensive-looking shoes of course. He placed the pastries on the coffee table and straightened. He waited for her to take him into account and when she didn't for a while he cleared his throat to get her attention.

When she still ignored him, he cleared his throat harder and greeted, ”Good Afternoon, Madam Lei.” He took a pause and when no reply came, then continued, ”When will you like to have your lunch, the kitchen…”

Lei Xinyi lifted her head and cut him off, ”How long has it been like this?”

Butler Yang looked at her confused, then his expressions turned placid, ”Madam Lei, the kitchen has been…”

”I am not talking about the Lunch, I am talking about your leg.” She interjected with a straight face.

He looked taken aback, but replied none the less, ”I am grateful for your concern. My leg is fine…”

”Sit Down.” She commanded breaking his trail of sentence.

The Butler looked oddly at her, not able to make the sense of her words but relented when her eyes hardened

She kept a hand on his knee cap jolting him away from her as his eyes widened at her outrageous action. He tried to tug it away, least someone made assumptions or spread rumors but she kept her hold hard on him and closed her eyes.

He frantically objected, ”Madam Lei, Master Li wouldn't like …”

Lei Xinyi shushed him, and instructed instead, ”Straighten it then fold it back, slowly.” He hesitated but did as she said, not seeing the point of debate when she was going to not be deterred till she had met her goal.

After her inspection, she let go of his knee. Just when he was about to take a sigh of relief, she took hold of his gloved wrist, she frowned and inculpably said, ”Calm your breathing.”
