303 Cross My Heart And Hope To Die (1/2)

Lei Xinyi shrugged taking some more of the dry fruits. She had an idea of why he would be mourning but she decided to shrug off the stupid idea of him missing her. It was absurd!

Lu Xinyi laid back down closer to Lei Xinyi and, taking hold of her hand she started playing with the gleaming ring in her finger. ”I still can't believe that you look just like me and you posed as me for months!” She muttered.

Lei Xinyi tugged her hand back, scowled, and turned to her fixing her with a glare, ”Albeit, I did not pose as you, I had no other option. Your father just kidnapped me from the street, thinking I am you. When I tried telling him I am not you, he refused to listen and I was in desperate need of an escape so I just did what I had to.”

Lu Xinyi cradled her hand and smiled sheepishly, ”Sis Yi, don't be mad! I was just saying and my mouth is stupid, anything comes out of it!” Lei Xinyi just waved her hand nonchalantly.

Realizing, she had approached a heavy subject, she carefully asked a light query, ”So why does everyone call you 'Lei Xinyi' when your name is 'Yin Lin'?”

Lei Xinyi stared at the ceiling with her eyes scrunched in concentration, trying to phrase her dilemma. Truth to be told she hadn't even noticed that she had a lot of names but none that was her own, ”I was young when my mother left me in my Grandfathers yard over a deal so I don't really remember what she called me. I was a quiet child or maybe there was something I was mourning for but I spoke less. He Zheng's mother was the one who named me 'Xinyi' and then this was what I told everyone my name was.”

She mulled over the days and all the people that were no more, ”My adopted father didn't want anyone to know of my origin so he named me Yin Lin. When I left home, people in the Underworld called me 'Siren'. It was just a name they had come up with because I never told anyone my name. But they were all after all alias. I could embrace them all or neglect them all, nothing would change anything.”

Lu Xinyi mulled over it and nodded, ”I think, I would prefer calling you Sis Yi better,” She licked her lip and paused, ”If you don't mind that is.”

Lei Xinyi smiled, patting her head, ”I don't…”

Before she could continue her phone rang cutting her off, she leaped to it with a frown as Li Yuan's name flashed on the screen.

”What is it?” No matter how much of a show she put on to get on his mother's nerves she still was angry with him and this anger was going to take time to just fade away.

”Where are you?” His deadpanned voice followed, showing he wasn't too pleased, past the pretense they put, too.

Lei Xinyi snorted, offhandedly, ”You know where I am! Just get to the point, what is it?” Her voice, devoid of any warmth.

There was a silence of annoyance before he snapped, ”You shouldn't really be messing there! But I will deal with her; just get ready for your appointment in ten minutes I will be there.”
