”He sounded desperate, he was ready to…”
Li Yuan cut him off frostily, ”Connecting him on the line.” He was annoyed and irritated.
The man really had no sense or he was a plain nuisance who was unlucky to bother him in a time he was already occupied in settling his Raven's affairs.
”Okay, Sir.”
At once he connected the line and the receiver was immediately picked. He passed the line to Li Yuan.
”Yin Hoa…What would that be that is eating you up to ruin all the peace and calm in my life by blasting my lines any chance you get?” His tone wasn't suggesting that he cared, it almost sounded bored and unbothered but the underlying threat was an unclaimed territory.
The person on the phone wasted no time in replying, ”My daughter! I want you to f*cking let Yin Lin go! Whatever it is, it has to be against me. Leave my daughter out of it!” The desperation in the man's voice was of a man on last resort. He seemed worried and helpless, unlike the lecherous man he really was.
The man had heard of the Underworld's Lord and had first hand seen the atrocious sins he was capable of but his daughter was stubborn, outspoken but childish and spoilt. He couldn't imagine her being treated in their calloused hands.
Li Yuan rose a brow and looked up at Ji Zhou. They were both skeptical about what the man was going on about, they hadn't kidnapped any spoilt princess socialite.
”Your daughter?” He couldn't help the mocking chuckle that escaped his lips, ”The one you wanted to rodeo in front of me like a cattle? Old man, you are hilarious! Why would I have your daughter?!”
There was silence on the other line for a while that Li Yuan was about to hang up but then the man desperation halted him.
”Please…” The pleading beg of the prideful man made him squint his eyes, he sounded like a man ready to leave the world trivial. Then he picked his resolves and his tone hardened, ”I am asking you to return her to me! She is all I have and I will not spare any nickel or gold if I have to!”
Li Yuan exhaled and held the urge to roll his eyes at the dramatics, ”Last I heard was that your daughter was deranged and tried to choke her fiancé to death, worry for people who have her. So if I were you I would look for the nut or guard houses.”
It was like a dam broke loose and the man started shouting hysterical, ”She is with you! You took her, kidnapped her! I will f*cking se…”
”Do your worst!” He calmly permitted, almost sounding bored, and kept the receiver. It ringed twice more but he ignored it
”Old haggard maniacs.” He muttered and started going through the proposal. It was the second senile Old man who had tried to ruin his mood.
Either that old man really thought he was too important or plainly he was too stupid.
His infamous daughter in the circle was known for her anonymity and rumors concerning her. She hardly ever made an appearance, something about being overseas. She was an illegitimate daughter and if the man's face was a sign, quite ugly too.
He snorted in mock. What did they think he was running, a gang of bandits? To kidnap little spoilt socialites for ransom!
Assistant Ji was about to leave when Li Yuan called him out from behind, ”Inform the Housekeeper not to make dinner and arrange the last detail of the date at the beach villa. And get the ring and piercings ready.”
”Yes, Sir.”
Remembering something he called him back, ”And take a week paid sponsored vacation trip next week with your girl anywhere around the globe.”
”Thank you, Sir.” He bowed deep, hardly able to conceal the smile that was spreading on his face. So perhaps the arrival of his Boss's woman wasn't too bad after all.
