Yu Yohan stared at her for a while then smirked mockingly without amusement, ”Is this what it is about? You wanting to get back to your 'fiance'? Huh?”

Her eyes shot up to meet his incredulously, she closed her eyes in frustration, huffed out of frustration, ”It's not you, not even him, It's me!”

She slid closer on the couch and bit her lip, she tried to hold his hand that was between them but Yu Youhan pulled it away.

Lu Xinyi pulled her trembling lower lip between her teeth and looked with hurt evident in her eyes to the empty space, ”We can be friends still. I will keep in touc...”

”We are not friends!”

Lu Xinyi eyes widened in astonishment and her cheeks reddened in embarrassment, ”I thought we were...”

Yu Youhan closed his eyes to not burst out at the naive woman, ”We are not friends! We are anything but friends!”

”Youhan...” Before she could complete her sentence he cut her off. He was frustrated. Wasn't it a girl instinct that they know things like this?!

”Have I not been obvious?” Lu Xinyi gave him a confused look, he gritted his teeth and shouted, ”I see you as a woman and I want you as a woman, Damn it!”

Lu Xinyi looked at him in astonishment and jerked away as if she was physically hurt. She covered her mouth, her breathing ragged.

Yu Youhan saw her reaction to his confession, shock, hurt and accusation. It clawed his heart, he pursed his lips and took a deep breath and left the room in a rush. When he pored his heart out to a woman he didn't think she would feel like he threw acid on her.

Lu Xinyi felt like the base of her pagoda of beliefs was crumbling.

How could she be so stupid?! All the signs were there! The way he treated her as gently as a feather touch when he was known a man of thorny hard exterior!

Her subconscious was right, no man did anything for others without expectations or demands! But...but how could she be with him or how could she see her future with him.

He was handsome, sweet and she liked him in every possible way but not like that!

She was indebted to him for life and that was the main reason this was wrong! He was far more greater and she owed him! Why would she want a relationship where she would owe a man for whole her life.

There would never be a balance in a relationship like this, he would always lean on her and she would have to always bend in gratitude or courtesy.

There will be nothing like a relation between them! It was as wrong as a superior and inferior relation, where in every fluctuation the inferior had to bend and take the fall!

She wanted independence not a fancy dependence with glamour! What was she going to do now?!
