93 Cold Shoulder (1/2)

The days in the Planning Department were unexpectedly calm. I was almost two weeks passed since she had been here. It was almost paperwork for Lei Xinyi which was relatively easy then having a bunch of scheming hyenas like the Secretariat.

Although Assistant Yan didn't like her very much, she hardly caused any trouble for her.

The arrangement stated that Lei Xinyi had to have her lunch with Li Yuan but Lei Xinyi avoided him making a different pretext everyday like she was settling with her coworkers because she was new.

Li Yuan was a dangerous territory. He knew things about her and damn that man, he had an effect to make her swoon and take her on cloud nine just by his mere touch

Closeness will lead to development of feelings which she can't afford.

The girl Liu Yan had been a help in avoiding Li Yuan. She would take her to the Office Cafeteria during the Lunch time and continue blabbering. All Lei Xinyi had to do was occasionally laugh and sometimes say 'hmm'.

Li Yuan might have taken a hint because after inviting her to Lunch twice Li Yuan didn't bother her nor did he text her after that.

Although it did bother her but she brushed the uneasy feelings….

'RING..Ring!!”

The receiver on her desk ringed breaking her train of thoughts. She picked it and as she brought it to her ear she heard the shrill voice of Assistant Yan Wang.

”Come in my office, now!” Without waiting for her reply she hung up.

Lei Xinyi glared daggers at the receiver hopping her piercing gaze will put a hole in the obnoxious woman head.

Letting out a frustrated groan Lei Xinyi jumped from her seat and reached the office and entered upon getting permission.

There were three seniors already in the office sitting in front of Assistant Yan and were in a heated discussion.

As they didn't include her in the conversation Lei Xinyi sat on the sofa in the office and started playing with her phone.

She caught some words like 'Fang Island' and 'resort construction' but ignored. Instead she searched for her old best friend Su Qing.

She was everywhere on Weibo apparently because she had a new scandal. Lei Xinyi rolled her eyes looking at that. Such scandals were always to rile up Yu Jian, second of the Yu brohers.

She was happy to know her best friend was doing fine; between all these fake and pretentious women she missed her a lot.

She was bitter, blunt and too straight forward but at least she was real except in front of public. Her thoughts then drifted He Zheng. She missed them a lot and she wished she could go back.

She realized she had done a blunder by stealing that heirloom just to get on the Yu's nerve and has traded all the beautiful things in her life, her little brother and her best friend. If there was a way back….

”Miss Lu, did you understand all the details.” Lei Xinyi heard the cold voice of Yan Wang breaking her train of thoughts.

'Was she supposed to listen?!' Lei Xinyi wondered.

”Yes, I did.” Lei Xinyi lied.
