'BEEP… BEEP… BEEP'
Lei Xinyi heard the annoying alarm clock first thing in the morning followed by blinding light that came through the window.
Hearing the sound Lei Xinyi covered her face with a pillow to shield herself from the light seeping through the window covers that were drawn.

'BEEP…BEE... CRASH!!'
Before it could ring again Lei Xinyi threw it on the front wall, shutting it for eternity.
”I go around cleaning filth from your land all night and you let this evil digital-clock disrupt my sleep! How are you fair God?!” Lei Xinyi mumbled annoyed and covered her head again with a pillow to block sunlight.
As she was finally retreating to her peaceful sleep…
'KNOCK… KNOCK!'
Pressing the pillow hard on her head Lei XInyi tried to avoid the sound, hoping that they would assume she is dead and leave…
'KNOCK… KNOCK!'
The knocking got even louder than before, ”…Arrrghh…” letting out an irritated groan Lei Xinyi got out of the covers to sit on the bed.
”Who the f*ck has their asses on fire?!” Lei Xinyi shouted enraged from the lack of sleep.
”Mind your language, Young Lady!” She heard Madam Lu from the other side of the door and before she could formulate a reply, the door was opened rather rudely.
Madam Lu entered the room with a scowl on her face followed by the Housekeeper, who had several dresses and shopping bags in her hand.
Madam Lu stepped forward toward the bed with narrowed eyes and said angrily, ”Why are you not getting ready for work?”
Lei Xinyi huffed with irritation, ”I am sick! I have a head-splitting headache.” Lei Xinyi lied through her teeth.
Then turning to the housekeeper Lie Xinyi said, ”Call in sick for me.”
Madam Lu narrowed her eyes at Lei Xinyi and sneered, ”Lu Xinyi! That's the fifth time you have called in sick in the last two weeks!”
Well that was true Li Yuan left for his trip two weeks ago. Since then, taking out the weekends, out of ten working days, she only went four days.
But she wasn't to fault at all, everything in that office bored her to hell. She was a medical genius but she couldn't tolerate those financial statics for an hour.
Exasperated Lei Xinyi said, ”That's because I AM sick!”
Coming forward Madam Lu squinted her eyes and sternly glared at her and spat angrily, ”Housekeeper Mo, call the family doctor! I really want to know if she is dying out of some kind of cancer!”
Hearing Madam Lu's command, Lei Xinyi was beyond irked. She clearly knew she was acting but she had to be persistent. Damn the woman was too clingy!
Huffing out finally Lei Xinyi flung the covers aside to go to the bathroom, muttering, ”Fine woman! I am going. Everyone know she just want the house empty for her sick kitty parties!”
Before Lei Xinyi could enter Madam Lu said sharply, ”No need to get prepared for work. Today, you have to visit The Li Mansion at lunch, the plan was for you to reach with your fiancé but since you are already late for work. You must go with me.”
Everything Madam Lu said was flushed out of Lei Xinyi's mind when she heard her say 'Visit the Li Mansion' Lei Xinyi closed her eyes wishing it's a nightmare and she will wake up to her sh*tty life.
But, NO! It's damn real. Lei Xinyi had the urge to bang her head against the nearest wall. The love of Madam Li for her son was renowned just as much as her hate toward Lu Xinyi.
She thought of her son as some celestial treasure and thought of Lu Xinyi as a mere measly peasant, who doesn't even deserve to inhale the same air her son does.
She had heard too many rumors of how the woman had humiliated Lu Xinyi from the servants.
Damn after the f*cking tough night yesterday, no sleep in the morning and now she also has to bear the tantrums of her 'Mother-in-law'.
Not noticing Lei Xinyi's despair Madam Lu continued, ”I have prepared these five dresses with accessories, select one and tell the maid to arrange the rest in your closet.”
As she was halfway through the door, she stopped, turned and said coldly, ”The stylist will be here for your hairdo and make up, be prepared till then.”
