16 Not Dead Yet... (2/2)
The base was built underground so the entrance was in an artificial cave. Yu Youhan indicated his assistant to go look into it and turned to the Security department.
Raising an eyebrow the man asked in a calm monotonous voice, ”And you didn't realize?”
Their master was asking why they didn't detect the car entering their territory beforehand. Even in the calm voice of his Master he could detect the promised dread, ”S…Sir we did realize but the car was registered on a common civilian name, and the driver was a girl. W..We thought maybe she was just wandering around or lost so…”
They were interrupted by Jiang Cheng coming running back to the Security Department, sweat was dripping down his face and nervousness was detected in his pose.
It was from running or anxiety nobody could tell. The department heaved a sigh of relief at the interruption.
”B..Boss it's Miss Lei. She was in the car.”
If Jiang Cheng 'grand' entrance didn't have his attention, this surely did. As finally the man looked at him, ”Lei Xinyi?”
”Yes! S..Sir”
”Where is she?” He said in cold tone without much of a reaction. He stood up to follow his assistant who was guiding the way. After passing several hallways, they entered a room.
A girl laid on the hospital like bed. Her white dress along with the white sheets was painted crimson red. Her eyes were close as there was nobody in more peace than her, leaving his whole world in chaos.
He never felt anything for Lei Xinyi, keeping her by his side safe, was only because he was chasing a shadow in his memory but right now there was something different about her. She resembled too much the girl in his memory. His heart for the first time escaped a beat.
”Get her treated! Wake her up! Call for real doctors!” He said in a stern tone and this time the whole base got in real chaos. Knowing their Boss's temper and how the people who dared defied their Boss ended people were on their toes.
”On it. Sir!” Then he went to bring the 'real doctors' because the people they had in white coats here were definitely butchers, that they kept for prisoners to 'treat' them.
The sanest of them begin with the procedure as ordered, heaving a sigh of relief that the girl wasn't dead yet…
