Chapter 101: Where are you touching? (1/2)
This chapter is brought to you by liang liang stan!! Thank you for the Ko-Fis!
Given how obvious his straying gaze was, Liang Chuhan asked: “Is xuezhang trying to find someone?”
She exposed his preoccupation with one sentence. Liao Su laughed, saying, “Where’s Xiao Linzi?”
Once Liang Chulin was mentioned, a slight smile appeared on Liang Chuhan’s face. “You’re looking for him? He’s not there.”
She left her words partially complete as she let out a low chuckle.
Despite giving the square array formed by the boys in the Liberal Arts College a few sweeping glances, You Liangxing did not manage to find a shadow of Liang Chulin, and the same could evidently be said for Kang Shengzhe as well.
“Hm? That’s strange, that’s strange, where is he?” Liao Su muttered before he noticed a glint of amusement flashing past Liang Chuhan’s eyes. Then, he came to a realisation, “No way, was Xiao Linzi separated?”
Liang Chuhan nodded and You Liangxing immediately understood as well. After the military training entered the formal stage, all of the square arrays had to go through a reorganisation, and the basis for the new formations was one simple and rough word: Height.
And if height was the criteria, it was of no surprise that Liang Chulin was distributed elsewhere.
“Ah, no wonder. I almost forgot about this. Which square array is Xiao Linzi in then? Also K, Kang Shengzhe, I don’t see Kang Shengzhe either.”
He did not know if he should applaud Liao Su for remembering Kang Shengzhe’s name. You Liangxing patiently waited for the answer but the topic seemed to have greatly amused Liang Chuhan, such that she made this suggestion instead: “Would you like to try and find them yourself?”
Since Liang Chuhan put it that way, it was evident that they were not sorted into ordinary places. Resolute, Liao Su said: “Sure.” Then, he tugged You Liangxing away as he said, “Let’s go and take a look around, Brother Liang.”
Since they said they were going to find them, they went for it but it was inconvenient for Liang Chuhan because she still had a job to do. Hence, while borrowing the high-sounding reason of having to conduct inspections, You Liangxing and Liao Su did a full inspection of all the boys’ square array. While others assumed that they were being dedicated, they did not know that Liao Su was treating it as a treasure hunt and he was wearing a face of excitement from beginning to end.
However, ten minutes later, Liao Su gradually showed some disappointment. “They’re not around, we’ve gone through everything once.”
With height being the standard, You Liangxing and Liao Su had already carefully searched the boys with the lowest height but it had yielded no results. Thus, You Liangxing suggested, “Could he be at the girls’ side?”
Liao Su: “… No way, right? Being at the girls’ section is too…”
His words came to a halt and Liao Su’s face became rigid as he snapped towards the other direction. Since the pair’s bitter searching did not yield any results, they had to go to the girls’ section to check. After taking a few steps towards the square array formed out of people with around the 1.6 metre mark, they managed to find Liang Chulin in the first row.
Not only was his taut face dark, his expression was also as black as the bottom of the pot.
It was no surprise that he was akin to a deflated airbag; a square array consisted of two hundred people and he was the only boy amongst one hundred and ninety-nine girls. If it was changed to anyone else, their psychological bearing would face total collapse.
“Holy shit, he’s really there… Ahahahahahaha, hahahahaha!!!”
Liao Su was basically wheezing from his laughter. On the other hand, Liang Chulin, who had been standing in military position, had his attention drawn to the laughter and he suddenly saw You Liangxing’s bright eyes. He looked away and sucked in a breath before making a suffocated noise through his nasal cavity.
Liao Su gasped, “How is he so funny.”
You Liangxing did not have much thoughts about it. In the moment where his gaze landed on Liang Chulin’s person, it stopped there briefly before he looked into the distance unconsciously.
If their distribution was in accordance with their heights, he was afraid that Kang Shengzhe was in a similar situation where he belonged to group where “no one wanted to combine with them”. Since he was not part of the 1.8 metres to 1.9 metres male square formation who were already assembled and getting by, he could only be in the national flag bearing team.
“Brother Liang, why don’t you go ahead? I’ll stay here and wait for Xiao Linzi first, and I’ll come over and find the both of you in a few minutes. Hey, remember to take care of my God K well, okay?”
Since you are concerned about Kang Shengzhe, why don’t you go yourself?
Thinking that, You Liangxing gave him a sweeping glance and ventured towards the national flag team without a pause.
They were not far away and he could not stop his heart from jumping with joy. As his eyes observed the national flag team, he was not surprised in the least when he caught sight of a really big figure.
The national flag team’s training had always been strict and You Liangxing had no intention of distracting this silly tall man. Thus, he stood firmly in the shade of the trees that was not far from where the team was located at and watched Kang Shengzhe practice from afar.
But frankly speaking, the sight of him was funny because Kang Shengzhe’s stature was exceedingly tall which made it difficult for the national flag team – one that was commonly known for their admirable and long statures – to even accommodate him. When he stood with them, it made the team look extremely uncoordinated no matter how they attempted to arrange him, and they reached the same conclusion they had when You Liangxing was a freshman.
Kang Shengzhe had to carry the flag.
The person carrying the flag was always at the helm and there was no one in the distance to make a basis for comparison, and it was also a position that You Liangxing once filled. Soon, he became engrossed watching. Then, Kang Shengzhe unexpectedly turned back and their eyes met, which caused Kang Shengzhe to narrow his own eyes at him before a smile blossomed across his face.
His visage had always been a point that jabbed at You Liangxing, to say nothing of it when he showed such a serendipitous and undisguised smiling expression. You Liangxing’s eyes crinkled too and he felt a fleeting sensation.
… Seriously.
This person was really…
You Liangxing could not think of any descriptors but the delight he felt from seeing the other party smile at him was not a bad one.
Vested with interest, You Liangxing watched on for another ten minutes and as a result of that, Kang Shengzhe was punished by a school senior to do twenty push ups for turning his head frequently. Once his punishment was completed, he was allowed some time for rest and Kang Shengzhe did not even wipe away his sweat before he sprinted over. He said, “Liang Liang, did you specifically come to find me?”
You Liangxing did not answer and handed him the iced honey water instead. Kang Shengzhe tilted his head back and drank the contents in one gulp and said happily: “Resurrection armour ah~”
Upon seeing how refreshed he was from the drink, You Liangxing discerned that he was in a good mood, and it was only then that he chose to speak. “Your tooth isn’t fully healed yet, speak less.”
Kang Shengzhe was full of smiles. After he had returned for military training, his previous military training uniform had been swapped for the national flag team’s uniform which gave the impression that he was tall, straight and elegant; stylish even. However, the sizing of the uniform was not exactly suitable because his ankles were partially exposed. And under the heat of the sun, the lower half of his ankles were darker than the upper half.
Indeed, he had become tanner.
Kang Shengzhe’s skin was rather white, and it became particularly obvious whenever he became a shade darker. Without further delay, he took out the sunscreen spray and handed it over, causing Kang Shengzhe to ask: “Is it for me?”
You Liangxing nodded and Kang Shengzhe’s eyes bent in reply as he immediately took it as well. Brows curved, he said: “It’s a good thing, I’ll bring it back and offer it in worship tonight.”
You Liangxing: “Less drivel.”
Kang Shengzhe said: “When did I speak drivel? How could I bear to use the things you gave me? I definitely have to treasure them.”
You Liangxing found that strange and he could not help but ask: “Then what of the sweets I gave you in Beijing?”
With a serious face, Kang Shengzhe said: “I placed it on my bedside table. Every time I want to eat it, I’ll sniff it instead.”
