Chapter 71: The nauseating stenChapter of love. (1/2)
This chapter is brought to you by smolgingersugar and Cass!
The attitude that Kang Shengzhe had was a sharp contrast to gloomy clouds and sad mists which hung over You Liangxing’s head. When the former smiled, it was like sun rays were shining through, and under its glare, You Liangxing knitted his eyebrows and closed his eyes.
Laughter was suffused through Kang Shengzhe’s tone as he spoke with exuberance: “This is incredible, I was just thinking when would be the ‘next time’ I could meet you and in the next moment you’re lying by side. Perhaps I’m dreaming?”
As he spoke, Kang Shengzhe stretched his head out and caressed You Liangxing’s face without the slightest politeness.
You Liangxing delivered a punch to Kang Shengzhe’s stomach which caused the taller man to groan once even though his body did not bend. The doctor was right; he really was at the peak of perfection when it came to being naturally gifted at taking a thrashing.
Furthermore, despite taking a hit, he showed no anger. In fact, he seemed even happier. With a huge grin, he said: “There’s no mistaking it, it’s my Liang Liang.”
You Liangxing could not help but open his eyes, “You did it on purpose.”
Prior to this, Kang Shengzhe had evidently stared at him for a long while and even poked his face. If he wanted to confirm it, he would have accomplished it early on. Kang Shengzhe admitted to it frankly: “That’s right.”
Sure enough, he had touched his face with the particular purpose of doing so. They had only met for a few minutes but You Liangxing felt his eyebrows twitching again.
Kang Shengzhe looked at You Liangxing deeply and his serious gaze lasted for a long moment. Finally, he sighed with sincere emotion, “It’s too good to be true…”
You Liangxing had no way of refuting either. It was like a dramatic reunion out of a movie and he had no idea what to say first. Truthfully speaking, before he could even begin to conjure his words, his thought processes had already been thoroughly interrupted by Kang Shengzhe.
The person seemed spastic as he giggled to himself while staring at You Liangxing.
“Hehehe, hehehe, hehehe.”
You Liangxing: “……”
No longer able to tolerate it, You Liangxing spoke: “Shut your mouth.”
Although Kang Shengzhe was scarcely afraid, he still chose to suppress his laughter. He continued to look at You Liangxing quietly. And as if he had thought of something, he rummaged through his bag to search for something and handed it to You Liangxing.
You Liangxing hesitated because that piece of paper was none other than a boarding pass.
Kang Shengzhe smiled, “Let’s exchange.”
In two short words, it dredged up the memories of the promise they had made at the last meeting. You Liangxing lowered his eyes and took out his own boarding pass and they exchanged and retrieved the item simultaneously.
Boarding passes had the other party’s information printed on it, and naturally, that included the other party’s name. Previously, they had agreed to tell each other their names the next time they met, and it was about to be realised.
Before they flipped to the front of the boarding pass, You Liangxing and Kang Shengzhe’s gazes met. Although everything seemed normal on the surface, something seemed to simmer underneath as if they were stepping over a very high threshold.
You Liangxing had always assumed that when they were going to exchange their names, it would be through verbal communication. However, using a textual method felt like an uncommon rites of passage and it made it seem as though they were doing something extremely important.
You Liangxing settled his mind and flipped over the boarding pass. On the first line where the name was supposed to be, three distinct characters were printed: Kang Shengzhe.
That was Ah Sheng’s name.
Kang Shengzhe, Ah Sheng… that was how it came to be.
You Liangxing integrated the information instantaneously before he recalled the main account Ah Sheng used for broadcasting purposes. Victor KK, Victor; in its own way, it was similar to Shengzhe. To use such a method to give himself a name – it was understandably both simple and crude.
Meanwhile, Kang Shengzhe was looking at the name on the boarding pass as well, and he was repeating his name in his heart: You Liangxing. After a short while, he sighed: “This name really suits you.”
You Liangxing shot him a glance. Similarly, in the recesses of his own mind, he felt that Kang Shengzhe’s name suited the person himself. Disregarding the other factors and just looking at the name alone, it gave the sense that it was to be expected, and it corresponded to the given person.
But now that he really thought about it, he vaguely felt that he had heard the name somewhere. You Liangxing said: “Were you late just now?”
Kang Shengzhe said: “Overslept, waking up early is really hard, what are you smiling for?”
You Liangxing faltered, only to realise that he had unconsciously registered Kang Sheng’s love for sleeping as an unassailable truth in human reality.
“Nothing really.”
Kang Shengzhe was unconvinced but he abruptly stretched out his head. You Liangxing reacted with a puzzled expression, so Kang Shengzhe explained: “Handshake.”
“Reason?”
“Justk2026; to commemorate the rapid development of our relationship from here on out?” As he said that, Kang Shengzhe blinked with bright eyes.
You Liangxing’s eyebrow twitched. Hand going forward as a fist, his punch landed on Kang Shengzhe’s palm, but the man reacted quickly; he overlapped both his hands and successfully captured You Liangxing’s hand.
Grinning, Kang Shengzhe said, “Hello there, You Liangxing.”
He wore a smiling expression but his countenance was gentle and solemn. You Liangxing glared at him for a long time before he eventually pulled his hand back, twisted his body towards the window and said, “I’m going to sleep.”
He really was a little sleepy, but the appearance of his turned body made it seem like he had fled after being defeated.
When the stewardess came around to distribute the mineral water in a perfunctory manner, Kang Shengzhe nodded to her, saying: “Both of us are a little sleepy and we would like to take a short rest. Do you have blankets?”
Kang Shengzhe and You Liangxing both possessed outstanding appearances and the stewardess could not resist throwing them a few more glances. Since both of them were handsome men, the attitude the stewardess adopted towards them was more considerate and gentler than usual.
“Yes, please wait for a moment.”
The stewardess handed him two blankets, to which Kang Shengzhe only took one. Smiling, he said: “One is enough for both of us.” While he spoke, Kang Shengzhe unfurled the blanket that was not big in size and draped it evenly between him and You Liangxing.
In an instant, the perception that the stewardess had changed from that of two handsome men to a pair of gay guys. As she pushed the cart further away, she could not help but turn back frequently.
You Liangxing, who had been pretending to sleep, “……”
… Poisonous, he was truly poisonous. At this rate, he was going to be die by poison.
Seemingly pleased with himself, Kang Shengzhe fiddled with phone under the cover of the blankets, and what he was doing was largely unknown. After a short while, You Liangxing, who had his head tilted away, jolted from the sudden sensation of an earpiece being plugged into his ear.
The music that filtered into his ear was a song played on piano; the soothing melody was very gentle, and it was rather relaxing to listen to.
Although two people sharing a set of earpiece fuelled the notion that they were gay and in love to anyone who glanced at them, the close-eyed You Liangxing could care less when his drowsiness was gradually overtaking him. While he was still tuned into the music, he unconsciously said: “What song is this?”
Kang Shengzhe asked, “Not asleep yet?”
Kang Shengzhe’s voice was clear and it was apparent that he was not sleepy. It was rare for him to be this energised in the early morning and he said: “That’s great. Liang Liang, I have some questions I would like to ask you.”
You Liangxing did not reply but Kang Shengzhe continued: “This plane goes directly from the Imperial Capital to City A and it does not stop in the middle; therefore, your destination must be City A. Additionally, I remember that you previously said that the university you were studying was away from home, and the aforementioned ‘away from home’ must be in City A, right?”
Kang Shengzhe might have said the statement in a bland tone but it had stunned You Liangxing when it landed in his ears. His eyes jerked open and he was about to rectify with a response when Kang Shengzhe had already spoken the next sentence which was even more shock-inducing.
“If your university is in City A, and if I had to hazard a guess, with Liang Liang’s natural excellence in anything he does, including his academic results, then his university should be A University, right?”
You Liangxing: “……”
Right on target.
He guessed it.
Frankly speaking, after encountering You Liangxing on the plane, the answer to the question was not difficult to parcel out. However, all his assumptions were based on the premise that they both happen to sit on the same plane.
Just last night, You Liangxing had felt that he had gained the upper hand regarding their situation, but he never expected that in under a few hours’ worth of effort, Kang Shengzhe would catch up.
The distance between the pair had pulled closer from two distant ends of a network; they had grown close to the point where their relationship had now transformed into that of a school senior and his school junior.
Kang Shengzhe had been overly excited early in the morning, and thus his consciousness was overstimulated. It was only after he had gradually settled down from the pleasant surprise of encountering You Liangxing that his brain had resumed its normal operations and allowed him to make sense of one aspect of their relationship.
It made sense of why You Liangxing had reacted the way he had when he said that he was a student from University A, and that reason was because they were from the same university.
The same university… Kang Shengzhe’s thoughts quickly spun themselves into a tizzy, and before long, he started laughing in bizarre notes. “Ohoho~ I’m really looking forward to it~”
You Liangxing: “……”
In a blink of an eye, You Liangxing was no longer looking forward to the chance encounter in the slightest. After receiving a scare from Kang Shengzhe, he had no intention of sleeping either, while Chief Culprit Kang Shengzhe seemed too pleased with himself as he pulled up the blanket and said cutely: “I’m sleepy, I’m going to sleep for a while.”
Head slanting, he laid it on You Liangxing’s shoulder and closed his eyes.
You Liangxing: “…. Hey.”
