Chapter 21 (1/2)

Andrew maintained the flame in his palm for a while before slowly withdrawing it. After fusing it with the molten heart, the red lotus flame couldn’t be activated by the power of the outside world. It could only be released when it was in coordination with the fire spirit in his body, therefore, it could not be released for too long.

After Andrew had fused an arcane rune into this spell, it should be considered a new type of spell.

‘I’ll just call it red lotus flare.’

Andrew gave it a new name. He could sense that the power contained in the arcane rune of the molten heart seemed to simulate the energy fluctuations within stars.

He closed his eyes and meditated for a while.

‘After awakening, the fire spirit, the space occupied by this little guy in the magic node will become limited.’

Andrew sensed the cheerful mood of the fire spirit.

‘Perhaps before advancing to an advanced mage, I can continue to head to the fire element world to absorb a few fire spirits.’

‘I reckon I can sustain this newly developed arcane level spell for a longer period.’

Andrew pondered silently and quickly decided on a training plan for the next period. Other than accumulating magic power, the most important thing was to try his best to fuse the fire spirit that he had awakened. He could faintly feel that… no, he estimated that every time he integrated, the quality of his magic power would increase by another time. By then, he could completely increase his combat strength by several times without advancing!

Andrew cleared his thoughts and got up from the cushion. He stretched his back and looked at the magic crystal that was almost scrapped for training, revealing a hint of awkwardness.

“Well, it seems that I need to make some contribution to the Association.”

He muttered to himself and left in a hurry.

In the next few days, Andrew fulfilled his duty as a Fellow of the Association, giving guidance to some beginner and intermediate mages. And the effect was a little too good to be true.

Andrew didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, especially with those fire mages. In the beginning, they were hesitant about Andrew’s guidance, but in the end, they simply respected him as a god. They discovered that this Fellow’s understanding of magic was unfathomable! No matter how tricky the question was, no matter how unpopular the mage was, Andrew still had some insights! Andrew, as a part-timer, was even more erudite than those legendary great mage-level figures!

“Mr. Smith, regarding the optimization of the fireball book, I still have a few questions!”

“I would like to ask, Mr. Smith, your application of the variation of the burning runes is too imaginative. This result can be reported to the association headquarters!”

“Mr. Smith, what is the difference between the nature of the runes used by intermediate mages and those used by beginner mages?”

“Wait, don’t push. I was the one who asked first!”

“What are you guys doing! If you are going to fight, you’ll make Mr. Smith unhappy. No one will be able to learn!”

Andrew sat in a living room of the Mage Association and looked at the group of beginner and intermediate mages. They were arguing over his guidance and he felt a little helpless.

At this moment, suddenly, someone’s phone rang. Then, as if it was contagious, people’s phones rang again and again. Finally, even Andrew’s phone rang, and an urgent voice came through.

“What’s the situation?”

Andrew took the phone and heard Lanza’s anxious voice.

“Mr. Smith, an intermediate magical beast, the Cyclops, has appeared outside the city! Outside the city, the beast tide in the Furlong Mountain Range is also showing signs of a riot! We can’t hold on much longer here. Quickly bring some people over to help.”
