51 Chapter 50: Fishing For Thoughts Recap Chapter (1/2)
”Come on guys! We are here!” My uncle yells at us.
Everyone in the back seat looked at where we were. it was a huge pond, decorated with an array of plants and trees. We can see the somewhat muddy water moving because of the fish.
”Oooh! This looks amazing!” I can see Charles's eyes sparkling.
”Not really...” Rose sighs. ”Now that I mention it I really hate the outdoors. I don't even know why I joined.”
We all got out of the car. Leaving the driver there who seems to be an emotionless person. I didn't bother it and we decided to rent the boats there. A few people there were fishing as well. This is a really famous fishing spot. We all hear the screams of the joy of innocent children being forced to fish by their parents.
”Remember when you were a kid? You hated fishing because you prefer to stay at home and fiddle with your phone.” My uncle turns to me.
”Oh right.. now that's why I can relate to these kids.” I laugh.
”MOM I DON'T WANT TO BE HERE I WANT TO GO PLAY MY PLAYSTATION. NOOOO” We see a young boy getting dragged to the boat.
”Yup those were the good old days. Remember when I had to drag you to the car since you won't leave.” My uncle and I both laugh at my childhood days.
”Although. I always thought that fishing was very boring and I never really liked it. I guess it's the people I was with that changed my perspective of it.” I say to him.
”Indeed. We would often share stories, we really talk a lot when we fish because waiting for the fish is long.” My uncle giggled.
”I guess forcing me to do this was the right thing. I wouldn't have known I liked doing it if I wasn't forced to like that kid over there who seems to be having a fistfight with his mother.” I chuckled.
This really gives me nostalgia, the fishing rods, the smell of the trees in the air as the wind blows our boat as we fish. It's just as I remembered.
”By the way. According to the boat. Only two people can be in the boat. So we'll have to split up.” Charles says to everyone.
”Oh! I'll be in the same boat as my Daddy George! I'm such a newbie and I really need your help...” Rose snuggled up to my uncle.
”No. I'm going with my uncle back off,” I whisper to Rose who gives me a pouty sad face.
”Please... I can't fish.. I need someone to teach me.” Rose gave me a little smirk.
”Don't worry Rose! I don't know how to fish as well... An instructor can teach us we go to the boats!” Charles says to Rose in an attempt to cheer her up but she wasn't really upset about the fact she can't fish.
”Rose, for now, I'd love to teach you but I really want to talk to Lisa you know? I haven't talked to her for quite a while. Can we both share a boat?” My uncle pats Rose's head. ”Fine!” She says like a kid having a tantrum.
”Alright then.” I simply nodded and my uncle and I got boats while Charles and Rose were taught by the instructor on how to fish before their boat was released.
My uncle puts everything we needed the baits, fishing rods and such into the boat.
”Don't forget the water! Stay dehydrated!” He says to me as I grab the 3 litters of water. Yes, my uncle really loves water. He is thirsty like that.
We jumped into the boat and got to a spot where there was no one around and it was just us and the breeze.
”It's been long since we did this. Let's set up our pole. It takes a while to grab fish after all. I set up my own rod and he sets up his own. Putting the bait which was worms into the hook and then casting it in the water.
”Wow, good job. You can actually do it now.” My uncle pats my shoulders.
”I've been able to do it for a long time now” I respond to him.
He sat down and I sat down to the chairs on the boat. He turns to me ”So how's college life? Have you gotten a boyfriend?” He asks me.
