Chapter 582 - Z’s Delusion (2/2)
It was not clear why, but Z was willing to answer Qin Feng’s question, like a mad scientist excited to show the world his greatest invention.
“When mankind first entered the new world, it was as the textbooks said. In the beginning of the Great Rift Age, humanity conducted countless experiments and among them were the research on genetic mutations. The mortality rate was too high and in the end humanity settled on using the awakening potion. However, the awakening potion also came with a high price!”
Qin Feng furrowed his brows, if the Awakening Potion had any flaws, he did not know.
“The awakening rate!” Z said.
Qin Feng was stunned, he did not expect that answer.
“The awakening potion strengthens the body, allowing humans to evolve into two major specializations, ability users and ancient warriors. There are also gunners who are the second in comparison! The chance of awakening is only one out of ten!”
“By our initial design, abilities and ancient martial arts are powers that could only be used by humans. The awakening rate must be 100%, then humanity can ascend beyond their current state, drive back the monsters and rebuild our home!”
Qin Feng quietly stared at Z. At this time, the man’s eyes were filled with madness that drew out the evil within him like a sinister fountain.
“What you’re saying is completely delusional!” Qin Feng spat.
How could there be potions that turned everyone into aptitude users?
“Delusional? Haven’t you noticed that all the other intelligent species that humanity has encountered aren’t fragile and weak? They’ve had strong bodies from the moment they were born. They’ll inevitably reach a stage in life where their strengths reach an average. The difference lies in whether or not they’re ordinary or a king or an Emperor!”
Qin Feng’s heart skipped a beat. He had never really considered this question before. For example, the Grans were all C-tier but their strength lay in whether or not they were soldier-ranked or king-ranked, so their statuses were different.
“That doesn’t account for everything. Maybe there are other races that are the same as us. The human race has an unlimited potential. An Immortal is something that’s one out of a billion!”
Z seemed to look at Qin Feng with admiration. “Then if there weren’t a billion to begin with, how could there be one?”
Qin Feng was left speechless by this.
It was a question of probability. Everyone knew that the more people there were who were awakened, the higher the chances of stronger people being produced.
A small place like Chengyang Colony only had about thirty to fifty people awakened each year. At best they only had about a thousand ancient warriors. It would be impossible for a D-tier to appear within the span of a decade in that place!
A place like the Dragon Capital which had countless strong people, abundant energy and limitless resources could be called the perfect place! The number of people who awakened there were a hundred times that of Chengyang’s. Just within a month, a D-tier aptitude user would be produced by that place. Each year, they would produce at least ten A-tiers.
When Z noticed that Qin Feng had gone quiet, he let out a gloating laugh, “That’s why I want to popularize this potion, though not everyone’s able to handle the potion like I do. Fortunately, 180 years of constant refinement has increased the current success rate by a huge margin!”
Qin Feng gawked at the man in front of him.
One hundred eighty years? Is he saying that he’s been experimenting for all this time?
Was that the man’s age? No, if they started experimenting when they were in their 20s, that meant that this man would at least have to be around two hundred years old.
That meant this was someone who was the same age as the Dragon Capital’s S-tier, Long Ting.
That was unbelievable!
Z seemed to have sensed Qin Feng’s shock and the corners of his mouth began to slightly move upward. “Qin Feng was it? The top prodigy of this year. I believe, based on your power, you can absolutely handle these kinds of potions!”
At this moment, Qin Feng felt chills go down his spine.
