Chapter 104: Yue Yi Auction House (1/2)
After saying that, Lin Xiao turned around and walked out of the store. Wenren Yu and Lin Yun were helpless, but they followed Lin Xiao obediently. After all, they also had no intention to stay in that sickening place any longer.
So what if they were country bumpkin?
Their starting point didn't mean anything. Even if they started off only as an ordinary villager, it didn't mean that they would become one forever. Their path and their decision would shape their own future.
”Well, we can try going to the other auction house?” Wenren Yu asked in hesitation. He was not sure about what they should do anymore.
Lin Xiao looked at his clothing. While it was not an expensive robe, at the very least, it was not tattered. It was not like he looked like a beggar on the street who couldn't even clothe themselves properly.
Did he look bad?
What he didn't know was that the material for one's clothing could be seen quite clearly. His clothing along with Wenren Yu and Lin Yun were made of coarse materials, which showed that it was cheap. Many other cultivators would wear clothes made of fine silk which would be expensive for many other people.
”Should we change our clothing first?” Lin Yun also asked since he couldn't understand what made his clothing looked bad.
Wenren Yu smiled bitterly. ”Even if you change your clothing, the shopkeeper and other staffs would be able to recognize you easily.”
”Will they even still remember us?”
”You want to enter this auction house again?”
Lin Xiao looked at the back where the staff was still busy praising the one who was buying the items there and had luxurious clothes. Somehow, he felt that it was just simply how people usually acted in this world. They would judge someone based on what they saw on the other person and what the other person have.
It was just how the world usually was.
”No need. Let's just check the other one.”
”Ok.”
Raising his head, Lin Xiao read the name ”Yue Yi Auction House.” Just like the other one, it had a smaller store right beside the auction house for them to sell items that were not as rare as those that usually appear in the auction.
Different with the other store, the store here was slightly bigger but there were lesser items placed on the stalls. There were also only a few staffs standing to wait and no customers were here.
”Hello,” Wenren Yu greeted when he entered the auction house.
The staff nearby nodded and looked at their clothing. It was clear that he was also judging them based on their clothing and appearance. The three of them didn't look rich and these people here had already met their fair share of people with similar appearance to them.
Most of them would only look around the store and not bother to buy anything. Of course, those people would usually also stay careful because they would not be able to afford anything.
Still, the staff put on a professional smile. ”Welcome, what can I help you with?”
