Chapter 26: Feast (1/2)

The next day, Lin Xiao did his morning practice with the others before departing to the village. Wenren Yu had no other choice but to stay because he didn't want his presence as an intruder in the village was made known.

With the destruction of Taiyi Sect occurring just recently, it would be highly suspicious if he just suddenly appeared.

They needed to wait for the right time.

”Brother, do you think the villagers will allow us to come and join in?” Lin Yun asked as he took his bag filled with some basic weapon to go.

Lin Xiao shrugged. ”They're the one who invited us. Why would they reject us on their door? Unless they want to say that they're lying about inviting us to feast together, we shouldn't worry about anything.”

”Alright. I'll do as you say, Brother.”

Since Lin Yun was with him, Lin Xiao had no other choice but to circle around the mountain and head into the village using the different path. While passing the river, Lin Xiao pointed inside and told Lin Yun in small voice that the cave he found was there.

The two brothers rarely kept secret from each other except if it was truly a grave secret. Probably, when they have terminal illness, they would never want to tell it to the other party in fear that they would only cause worry. Or if they have a girl they liked, they wouldn't want to tell their brother before they were certain of their feelings and wanted to pursue that certain girl.

If not, the two of them would surely tease the other party.

”The bull is said to come from this direction, Brother,” Lin Yun pointed to the front of the village when they could see it from a distance.

Lin Xiao nodded. ”I know.”

He was practically the one who pulled the bull to this area from the forest because that bull was chasing after him. In fact, Lin Xiao was wondering why that bull specifically chose to target him even when he did nothing at first.

”Oh, Little Xiao, Little Yun, you two are here.” A middle aged man waved his hand. His hair was already partially white, but he still stood firmly. Sign of aging could be seen on his face and hands.

”Shopkeeper Wan,” Lin Xiao greeted. He grinned. ”Are you here to promote your new items again?”

”Ahahaha, I'm here to ask you to try something new, Little Xiao,” Shopkeeper Wan replied with a grin. ”You will help this old man to test his new items, right?”

”Uh…”

Lin Xiao knew that whenever Shopkeeper Wan found something interesting, he would ask someone in the village to try it out. Most of them wouldn't want to because it could be dangerous or embarrassing. Only Lin Xiao occasionally still accepted the request because of one very precious items.

”How much this time?”

”One silver.”

”I want to see the items first,” Lin Xiao didn't agree immediately. If Shopkeeper Wan quoted such a high price, it meant that the item must be very dangerous. He did love money, but he didn't want to risk his life just to earn a silver coin.
