Chapter 214: Kaleyx, the Celestial(2) (1/2)

As a warrior on the battleground, one should only think about their enemies. They should only focus on the present.

How many should they kill?

How many can they kill?

What can they contribute to the grand scheme of things?

How appropriately should they use their bodies?

All these questions should be what swam inside a soldier's head.

Therefore, Kaleyx followed these principles to the core.

She was only concerned with killing...with slashing...with decapitating.

Before she was thrown into the battleground, the orientation she received was about the important details of her enemies.

However, she did not mind.

Kaleyx had never questioned any task she was given. Her mindset was only concerned about living and killing was a form of living.

It didn't take long for her to become a formidable force on the battleground.

She was not the most prominent celestial warrior but she was always above average.

After eons, when it was time for the war to reach its conclusion, Kaleyx was part of the disposable few sent to fight in the actual Nether realm.

She remembered back then when she was given the mission, she just nodded without any thought.

After all, it was an honour for a fallen celestial to be a sacrifice to her race.

The same could not be said for her invincible sister, who was among the most talented celestials.

She was sent to escort them to the nether realm but was not allowed to enter along with the team.

This was a way to safeguard her life. Ultimately, the celestial council had decided that she along with the other prominent celestials were too valuable to be used as cannon fodder.

However, things didn't go as planned.

On their way to the nether realm, they were ambushed by strong netherans, who had already sensed their infiltration.

This led to a battle between the two sides and the netherans won.

The celestial team was taken by their ambushers to the nether realm where they were locked for centuries.

The only reason they were still alive was that they served as a constant source of lifeforce to one of the netheran gods.

Like that, the team was eliminated from the war.

A few centuries later, Kaleyx's mind gradually became eroded by the abundant nether energy.

She began to rediscover herself and her mindset changed from a passive one to an aggressive one.

For the first time in her life, she released her forbidden powers and killed the nether god.

She freed her teammates, proof that she still retained a bit of sanity.

While they tried to escape, they found themselves unlucky as the battle was finally at its conclusion.

However, they were still in the nether realm!

It was then they witnessed the celestial king use a desperate attack to banish the nether realm from the third dimension.

He was successful and certainly a good thing for the celestial but not for the ones that were still in the nether realm.

Kaleyx, along with her team, was quickly surrounded by the other netherans.

After putting up much fight, they were killed, brutally.

To Kaleyx, it was nothing tragic. Death was a form of peace.

She longed to sleep and forget all about the war.

The memories of her family had long since waned. The only person she conversed with was her sister. Yet, they were never good conversations.

In the end, she was all alone…..the fate of every celestial warrior.

Kaleyx found herself seduced by the allure of death the older celestials warned her about.

She laid in its bed and slept with.

So, when she finally found a blade in her celestial heart, she simply let go and didn't resist…...she died!

However, death was a concept that only applied to lesser beings.

For god-like beings, death had loopholes and celestials were hard-wired to pick on those loopholes.

Celestials could never truly die. They were always reborn.

It didn't matter in what form or in what method, they would always come back to live, whether in the following year after their death or centuries after.

Perhaps this was why they had grown to be such a methodic race.

After Kaleyx's first death, she was granted peace for eons.

However, this was when things got tricky.

Due to the nature of the nether realm, no soul could ever escape from there, not to talk of enemy souls.
