Chapter 169: [Revised Limitless Slash] (1/2)

Moments ago.

The banshee queen was busy messing with the remnant of the humans that attacked her.

They refused to tell how they breached the array. Hence, she needed to scare them.

Despite killing one of the last two men, the other didn't spill out the method. He trembled in her presence, yet, when it came to what might save his life, he was firm.

However, he would never expect that the queen didn't need a method to break out of the array.

Once she consumed her precious egg, she would begin her first mutation as a banshee queen. This would give her enough power to break the array.

The humans' legend Caelein used [Holy Crystals] as a power source for the arrays. Over the decades, it would gradually lose power. So, the queen understood she was capable of damaging it, once she got her first mutation.

As a queen and a naturally inquisitive creature, the queen possessed a large amount of knowledge in her head.

She knew many things humans didn't know.

However, one of her many traits was her curious mind. This was why she was threatening the human in front of her.

She wanted to get every information she could get out of him. However, the human refused to talk, something that had never occurred for a while now.

This didn't make her angry. Instead, it made her more curious.

Trailing down her fingers on the man's face, she smirked.

Her widow-like face was probably extremely scary for the man to look at.

Finding a phrase that best described the situation, the queen chanted, ”As timid as a gold-rat, yet, as courageous as the man that challenged the gods”

Playing with his skin, she dug her finger into his forehead and attempted to do a [Memory Read], one of her unique abilities.

However, she sensed something.

It was those banshees that lingered at her doorsteps. She had ignored it for a long time, but they were getting too disturbing.

She focused her face at the door, signaling her second-in-command, the wraith, to disperse the banshees.

Before he could move, objects coated in sharp lights were thrown into the room, and chaos finally descended.

.........…

*Boom!*

The sound of the explosion covered his ears, but Jake didn't think, he just ran.

His mind took him back to the days when he practiced his sword technique. It was almost the same situation happening now.

One, he was being impeded by a force. Right now, it was the force of the explosion, blowing away everything. Back then, it was the lake; he couldn't retain his balance on the water surface.

Two, he had limited time. Right now, he was under the element of surprise, but back then, sticking on the water surface had a time limit.

Three, his goal was absolutely wretched!
