51 Episode 51: The scent of being ready when you rent a place.txt (1/2)
We asked Rebecca to provide us with food for the horses and straw for our beds, and we would continue to get them from there. We also got some vegetables and other foodstuffs from her contacts.
The price is not exactly the same as our friend's price, but it was really cheap and very helpful. Strictly speaking, it's the level that it costs a little over a silver coin a month to maintain 3 horses. In Japan, it's about the same as having a dog or a cat.
In fact, if you think about getting a horse in Japan, you'll be asked ”Which would you rather have, a cruiser or a horse? It's not a cheap level because it's so reckless. If you're in a place where there's a lot of land like Hokkaido, though, it might be different.
I hired Orica, who was blind and couldn't work, and the villagers seemed to like him a lot more. They talk to me all the time.
It was mostly just a greeting, talking about the mansion, business and Diana (because she's an elf, after all), so I cleared the air appropriately.
I had the impression that 99% of the villagers were agricultural workers, but since the village is just a stone's throw away from Elishe - simply because they don't live in Elishe - there are many people working in Elishe! It was like. I was a villager commuting to the city. The word ”commute” in this kind of fantasy world doesn't fit, though.
I've decided to leave it entirely up to Orica to purchase supplies from the village from the beginning. I'm going to have Marina learn how to buy things after a while to spread the load, but for the time being I'll let Orica do it. All she has to do is go shopping in her own village, and she should be able to handle it without any problems.
But if we buy a lot of straw and fodder for the horses, will it be too much to carry alone?
When I was thinking about that, he said he would carry the fodder and straw to the house. What a great service.
I bought enough food for the horses and straw for the bed, and went back to the house.
I also got some vegetables and a bag of rice. There were simple cooking utensils and dishes already in the house that Hetty had prepared for us. We can get as much water as we want from the well.
As for eating, I guess that's no longer a problem.
Orica has been hired to start tomorrow. I'm not prepared for them to work in the house. As for the bed, I couldn't just let Orica sleep in the same bed as Deanna and Marina, so I'd have to get a new one for her.
Well, we can make do with a new bed. The bedding will be fine, too. The problem is the maid's clothes, but I can get some used ones from the market.
...... I'd really like to get some pretty ones custom made, though! Tailoring! But I'm about to start being financially dubious, so not for a while!
The employment contract with Orica was a verbal agreement. I didn't sign a genie contract with him every time.
So even if I lost a whole genie stone when I was able to run away after fixing my eye, I would still be able to cry myself to sleep. But I didn't want to bind them with something as strong as a spirit contract, so I decided not to.
I was told I was naive after all, but ”It's better to believe and be deceived than to doubt and be skeptical,” said the protagonist of one of my favorite comics. ......
Mr. Hetty carried the luggage in the carriage to the mansion and then left, saying, ”I'll be back!
Later, before it got dark, we all learned from Rebecca about basic horse care.
It's this feeling that arises when you feed the horses.
It's so cute - horses are cute! Horses in another world are huge, but they're so cute.
Marina and Deanna seem to feel the same way, and they've been happily feeding their carrots to their hands so much that Rebecca warned them not to eat too many vegetables.
Tomorrow, we should practice riding horses. It's embarrassing that I can't ride a horse even though I have one.
...... When I master horse riding, I'm going to write ”horse riding” in the special skills section of my resume. ......
Afterwards, we all tried to cook together.
Deanna, as I expected, was someone who couldn't cook at all. That's the level at which she had never even held a knife.
...... but the cheat performance high elf-sama was so high performance that it didn't matter at all.
Lighting firewood or transferring water from a bottle was a single shot with ”simple spirit magic”. Moreover, even the lighting was one shot with ”I'm calling the spirit of light”.
What's this, what a cheat?
I thought you couldn't use spirit magic while under special guidance? I asked him, ”I can use the simple ones. This mansion has a strong spirit power, so we can afford it. I don't know what the scope of ”simple spirit magic” is: .......
It's not as easy as Rebecca's, but she seems to be able to cook and humming and boiling some potatoes, which is unexpected. I was expecting her to be more of a clumsy kid, like mistaking salt for sugar, so I was surprised.
I cooked the rice.
Technically, I went back to my parents' house and cooked it in the rice cooker. You can cook it in a pot, but with a ............ rice cooker, you see, you can't go wrong with .......
The food was all normal and delicious. Marina's stewed mushrooms were a bit dry, though.
The rice cooked in the rice cooker was also a hit.
After dinner, I had to get ready for bed before it got too late, so I went back to Japan.
I went back to my room and started up my computer to check the status of the auction that I put up at the end of the year. It hasn't been a day since I put them up, so I haven't finished any of them, but the bids are coming in one by one.
Well, I'm listing it for $1.00 again, so it's no surprise. As for the rest, I don't know what else to do if the bidding reaches a high price, but I'll have to open the lid to find out.
I also checked out the thread on the side. Maybe it's because of the winter break, but it seems to be a bit rough, but this is often the case.
I just responded to a couple of random posts and muddled through because I was busy. It seems that some kind of summary site has been created and new residents are flowing in.
