26 Episode 25: Horde of Arlaune.txt (1/2)

Arraune is a plant monster.

It has a face and body much like a human woman. A single large flower blooms from the top of its head, with leaves and vines instead of hair.

Although they look like women, Arraune does not have a gender and can produce offspring on their own.

Their skin is of different colors. A great variety of colors.

The goblins outside told them the horde of Arraune was approaching the south gate of the village.

”How long was Arraune around?

I don't know. But it's definitely not more than a hundred. There's a hell of a lot of them.

All at once, Bellamus is worried.

Delarosa and the others are out the south gate.

Maybe she went ahead and debriefed with Alraune and the others.

But going through the south gate doesn't necessarily mean they're going to meet. Furthermore, Arraune is a mild-mannered monster, so even if they were in a hurry, he wouldn't kill them.

What brought them to this village in the first place, Bellamus wonders.

They must be demons that live in the southeastern forest and basically stay in the forest, taking it easy.

Is there a reason for that?

They could talk, so depending on the circumstances, it might end quietly .

Since no one but Bellamus would be able to speak, Bellamus decided to deal with Arraune and the others before he went to find Delarosa for now.

'Open the gate!

It's coming from outside the gate.

It was in goblin language. Bellamus hurries up to the top of the gate to see what's outside.

Outside the gate, there's a large number of Alraune.

Apparently, Alraune can speak goblin.

There are far more of them than I expected, and I've lost count.

There must be more than 500 of them.

Besides the number of them, there's something else that bothers me.

Some petals had fallen off the flowers growing from the top of his head and his face was emaciated and listless.

Something must have happened to him in his home, Bellamus guesses.

”This is a hobgoblin village. It's nothing personal, but it's time for you to leave! Get out while you can, and you'll save yourself a lot of pain!

That's what Alraune, at the head of the pack, with a large red flower on his head, warned me.

We're being hunted down, or we're not in a position to choose our bets, it seems.
