223 Ambrosia Cartel: Part 30 (1/2)
”Patrick, well, I have no idea about what you were looking at, but our jet was located in the middle of the grassland right now. Where in the bloody hell is the fucking jet that we are escorting?” Lynn asked.
Well, Lynn hadn't realized that Patrick was looking at other flying objects. He was looking at the radar signature that the other planes in the airspace looked like. He was afraid that the Ambrosia cartel would be coming after him and ruin all of the covert ops things. Well, Patrick didn't want that at all. He wanted a smooth flight to Area 51.
”By the way, Lynn, what is Area 51. I've never heard of it,” Clara asked.
”Well. Area 51 huh?” Lynn started explaining while Patrick thought about the answer on his own mind.
Area 51 was a United States research facility. The research facility in area 51 was used for airplane research. That was the place where many prototypes of unknown aircraft were tested. If he came there, he could see the UFO prototype plane that was tested in the 90s. However, Patrick had assumed that Area 51 hid a lot of secrets among the other secrets. There was a reason why that area was still classified until today.
”And… That is area 51,” Lynn stopped.
Lynn gave the same explanation as what Patrick had been thinking without any difference. However, Patrick also had thought that Lynn had gone to Area 51 before since her explanation was very detailed. For example, she explained which sectors contained the prototypes of the airplane and something about the alien. However, Patrick didn't want to ask, what Lynn had known better be kept as a secret at this point since the secret of the United States wasn't usually that pretty to be heard.
”Lynn, about Herring. Who is he? Why would you call him your father?” Clara asked.
And Lynn began telling stories about Herring and their fateful meeting in the middle of the desert in Afghanistan. Yes, Herring and Lynn met in Afghanistan and both of them were not friends back then. In fact, Lynn met his special force squad when she was disguised as a guerilla fighter. Well, needless to say, it was quite an experience for both her and Herring.
”Afghanistan? Wait, you fought the delta force before?” Clara asked.
”Yeah, I fought the delta force before,” Lynn said.
”Well, Lynn, I have to say. You're quite a superhuman,” Clara said.
”Damn, it was quite a compliment from someone that survived being fired by an anti-tank missile launcher,” Lynn complimented Clara.
”Thanks,” Clara said.
However, Patrick's attention was moved to something else. There was something on the radar and it seemed to be unfriendly. The objects moved at a formation and both were moving at a great velocity towards their VIP. It wasn't fast enough to be called a missile but certainly wasn't a regular passenger plane either.
Well, Patrick wanted to keep his mind as positive as possible by thinking that it was probably another escort that came from the US side. However, Herring confirmed that there wouldn't be any escort for that plane since it would land in the restricted area. So, Patrick would just watch and see what those planes were up to.
Those radar signatures indicated that it was a squadron of F-15Es that were flying from a nearby military base located in New Mexico. However, it didn't ring any IFF as a friend either since that plane didn't have any signs of US air force aircraft. It made Patrick wondered who the heck was that squadron.
Patrick couldn't contact them since he was maintaining radar silence. However, Patrick didn't want them to fire an AMRAAM at the target that he was supposed to be protecting. Well, he needed to fly closer to the F-15 and hoped for the best. He didn't want to spook them though, he only wanted to know what they were up to.
Patrick: ”Infanta 1 to all planes. Check the radar signature on 1-8-0.”
Lynn: ”There were six planes. All are F-15s. Should we check them out?”
Patrick: ”Yeah. Let's go. There is no reason for not checking them and being caught with our pants down certainly not our wishes.”
Clara: ”Copy that Infanta 1. Infanta 3 will move to intercept.”
