194 Ambrosia Cartel: Part 1 (1/2)

”AND WE ALL SING ALONG!” The flashback ended abruptly as Lynn stopped drinking and started speaking nonsense.

Patrick's reaction was appropriate. He frowned his eyes as the flashback ended. Lynn's eyes had reddened and her nose had reddened too. It seemed that she drank too much of that wine that the other contractors gave to them.

Aline walked past them, she saw both of them were dead drunk while sitting on the edge of the main base. Aline took Lynn away and made sure that she went for her bed since she was dead drunk.

However, Patrick was left alone on the edge of that floating platform. Aline didn't have to move him since he was not as drunk as Lynn. However, Patrick's drunkenness was not light either. He could start saying gibberish at any moment.

Patrick stood up from the ground. He needed to go to his own room. There was Alex who was standing by near the entrance to the lower floor of the main base. He noticed that Patrick had difficulties in walking.

Alex ran in his direction to help him. ”Damn man, you messed up.” Alex helped Patrick walked back to his room, but before he knew it, Patrick had vomited

and it wasn't an ordinary vomit. The vomit was very red with chunks of something. Patrick fell to the ground shortly after that.

Alex quickly carried him on his back and brought him to the hangar so he could be treated. There was no medical quarter yet in this base so Aline's office was located right on the C-5 Galaxy itself where the supplies for the contractors were stocked there.

In there, Aline was treating Lynn who was almost unconscious due to alcohol poisoning. Remembering those memories must have taken a lot of alcohol since according to Stacy, there were six bottles of wine in the upper deck and they were all drunk by these two.

”Alright. Bring him here.” Aline told Alex to put Patrick on the bed.

Wednesday, 26th of June 2021. SDC Main Base. 0600 Hours.

Patrick was laying down on the hospital bed that was placed inside of the lower deck. The bed was placed in a tent that Aline used as a makeshift medical room. He had an IV bag attached to his hand since he was poisoned by alcohol last night.

”Hmm, don't do it again ok, Patrick,” Aline said.

She told him that his blood was intoxicated by the blood washing machine that he brought from the bunker that was located in the old town. That blood washing machine purpose filtered the alcohol content and pumped fresh blood into Patrick's bloodstream.

Lynn was sleeping on his lap all the time. She seemed to be worrying that Patrick would have some kind of symptoms after drinking that much alcohol. Technically speaking, he did have the symptoms of alcohol overdose, but it didn't mean that he would die either.

Once he got out of the tent, however, he saw his team leader was briefing some of the other contractors. They were the tank crews in particular. Patrick didn't have any idea why would Nathan need the tank crew for an operation. However, if one thought hard enough, one would know that Nathan's real intention was to recruit as many members as possible.
