168 Why I Became A Contractor: Part 6 (2/2)
I couldn't understand anything about what he had just said, but I knew that it was about the weaponry. He also picked up the weapon that I had just thrown at the person who was shooting at me. Echo glared at me as he looked at the weapon.
”Great, you broke my MP7.” Echo put his MP7 at holster and he gave the SCAR to me. ”This will be your personal weapon. I want you to treat it like your own boyfriend,” he said to me.
”Ok.” I held that giant rifle with my hand. That rifle was very big compared to my body which only had a height of 155 cm.
That rifle bullet was also bigger than the MP7. Echo told me that the kick of that rifle was going to be way stronger than the kick on the MP7, but he also said that almost everything that I would shoot will be dead with a shot with that rifle. I just nodded at his explanation.
”Let's get out of here.” Echo walked away from that safe house. I followed him from behind.
Bodies were laying down on the ground with a small blood pool surrounding each body. There was simply nothing good came out of that mission except for the money which was not my concern at that point. I was only looking for my death wish. Too bad the wound wasn't lethal enough for me.
”Go inside,” Echo said as he opened the back door of his car for me. I went inside of that car and Echo went for the driver seat.
He drove away from that safe house. His next destination was my house according to the GPS map on the car. He asked me about my first time.
”How was it?”
”Very... Nauseating,” I answered.
”Yeah. Well, that puke will be automatically cleaned so you don't have to worry about anything that might disgust you in our next job,” Echo said.
”About this rifle.” I looked at my SCAR-H that was being put on the seat of that Chevrolet. ”Is it very good?”
”It's spec-ops weaponry. It will be more than enough for daily use. However, the 7.62 bullets that it chambered was quite hard to handle, even by professionals like me,” Echo said.
”I see. How about my money then? When will I get it?” I asked.
A notification appeared on my phone. That notification came from the armory system.
[2,000$ has been added to account]
'Is this real? Or am I still dreaming in my dream?' I asked myself about the legitimacy of that payment. Echo seemed to know what my concern was and he immediately answered even before I asked.
”The money can be used once you set up a bank account. Of course, you can spend the money directly on the armory system.” Echo continued driving.
2,000$ wasn't a small amount of money. It was a very huge amount of money that I became surprised at how easy it was to get that amount of money. In correlation to how much pain I had received, getting grazed by a bullet was worth 2,000$.
Not long after that, Echo dropped me at my home. ”See you later, Lynn.” The car drove away from the front of my house and I walked to the inside of my house with my SCAR-H on my hands.
The house was empty and dark. The sky outside had turned black. If my parents were still here, they would have cooked the dinner, but they weren't there. I needed to cook my own dinner.
I put off my combat shoes that had many ties. I put it on the shoe rack and I released my balaclava and breathed the fresh air of my house, 'Finally, no puke.'
I walked to the kitchen and turned on the stove to boil some water. I put tea inside the cup that I had prepared. Suddenly, the bell rang. I wondered who it was, but I couldn't open the door with this uniform.
