93 The Contractor and Russians Stratagem: Part 17 (1/2)
Lizeth drove back to the living quarters to pick up the nuke. The silver briefcase could be found in the living quarters luckily. Nobody stole it which was a good thing considering that it was a bag thing if she must find the bike again between the Russian wilderness.
Lizeth picked the nuke up with her left hand and put the nuke on the passenger seat of her car. She drove to the hangar where Marinka and her Spetsnaz bodyguards were waiting.
Inside the hangar, there were two airplanes. A Learjet and a Su-35 were parked inside the hangar. The jet might be the escort for Marinka since she was the head of covert operation in FSB. Lizeth parked her car in front of that hangar and she walked while carrying the nuke on her hand.
Marinka was standing beside two of her bodyguards. She was wearing a Russian military uniform with a beret. The bodyguards were firmly holding their rifles. They were there in case Lizeth tried something funny on Marinka.
Lizeth walked in front of Marinka, ”Here you go Marinka. This is the nuke that you were looking for the past seven months,” she put the nuke suitcase on the ground and kicked it at Marinka's direction.
”Good. Great,” Marinka said as she walked to her Learjet with the bike on her hand. When Lizeth wanted to follow her, the bodyguards were forbidding her to follow Marinka. It might be their standard operating procedure since the search for the nuke was a covert operation.
Lizeth put her eyes on the fighter jet. It was the state-of-the-art Russian 4+ gen fighter jet. It was the backbone of the Russian air force at the moment since the Su-57 hadn't entered the mass production yet.
'Wow, such an amazing piece of military hardware,' Lizeth touched the body of the aircraft as she was astounded by that aircraft. That aircraft carrier two R-77 Adder and two Vympel missiles. It was armed and dangerous.
Marinka got out of her Learjet with a smile on her face. She might be very happy because she finally found the nuke. It also meant that she would get a promotion soon since the nuke was one of the vital assets of the Russian Federation.
Marinka walked to Lizeth who was observing the jet with her eyes. She looked like a kid that had just found a mountain of candies. ”She's a beauty, isn't she? Su-35S, the best jet in our air force at the moment, but still, it is worse than the F-22, but it will get the job done.”
”Hi, Marinka. So, how's the result?” Lizeth asked.
”It was good. The nuke is legit. It has been a very good experience working with you Lynx,” Marinka patted her head with her hand.
”Me too Marinka, me too,” Lizeth said.
”Did you know that you've prevented the third world war?”
”I think so. How much of the damage that will be paid by the Russian Federation of the nuke isn't found?” Lizeth asked.
”More than one trillion dollars if the calculation is not wrong. Thanks for your help Lynx,” Marinka said to her.
”Actually, I have one more favor to ask from you Marinka,” Lizeth grabbed her magazine pocket and pulled out her ten million dollars check.
Marinka was obviously confused. She knew that Lynx might have ten million dollars, but why did she show that to her. There must be something odd with those behaviors.
”Sure, but what's the favor?” Marinka scratched her head before Lizeth spoke what she wanted to say.
”I'm going to remove my bounty,” Lizeth said as Marinka ordered her men to aim at Lizeth.
”What bounty? I don't remember that you have any bounty?” Marinka aimed her pistol at Lizeth since she knew that something was odd with her.
”Yes, I have. Adrian Patrick Grant is my name, or it was my name,” Lizeth stood in front of the bodyguards who were aiming their rifle at her.
”Mmm, I guess killing you now is an option, but I know that you have the reason why you did this in front of me. So what's the reason, Patrick?” Marinka put her pistol back at the holster as she walked closer to Lizeth. She felt intimidated by Marinka.
Patrick handed the ten million dollars check to Marinka and she retrieved it. She ordered her men to stand down since she had something that would make sure that Lizeth's safety was guaranteed.
”You know, I can kill you right now and the problem will be solved, but I appreciate your action more,” Marinka tore that check with her hands. That ten million dollar check was torn right in front of her.
”This is too much. You've done too much for the FSB, just give us twenty percent of the bounty and I will erase your name from our hit list,” Marinka said as Lizeth grabbed her checkbook.
She wrote her name and the details needed for a legitimate check. She wrote two million dollars in that check and gave the check to Marinka. Marinka appreciated that action.
”You know, this will help the children of the Spetsnaz that you killed. It's better like this than hunting you down. It's a pleasure doing business with you,” Marinka extended her hand. She wanted Lizeth to shake her hand.
”It's a pleasure doing business with you too, Marinka,” Lizeth shook her hand.
Marinka invited Lizeth to the Learjet for a further briefing on that nuke. She did that since she had to write some paperwork's about the operation. Lizeth didn't mind about that since she took a long holiday for finding the nuke.
