82 The Contractor and Russians Stratagem: Part 6 (1/2)
Wednesday. 1600 Hours. Library.
”Are you sure that you didn't overdo it?” Lynn asked Lizeth as she sipped the tea in the library.
”Nah. It's a good money source,” Lizeth said.
”How much did you get? I get around 500k,” Lynn said.
”It's a secret,” Lizeth smiled at her as Clara entered the library. She put her bag near the table and made a mug of coffee for herself. It looked like she hadn't slept yet. It might be possible that she took an overnight contract with other contractors.
”Afternoon, Lynn, Lizeth,” she said as she sat down on the chair in front of them.
”Afternoon. How's your night?” Lynn asked.
”Good. Great, I just study too much yesterday,” Clara said.
”Where's Iris?” Lizeth asked Clara in case she knew what happened to her since she tried killing her the last time she met her in her combat loadout.
”No idea,” Clara answered. Lynn trusted her, but Lizeth still had her doubt. Especially when the said person was looking for a way to kill her efficiently.
”I see. What did the teacher say about her? Don't tell me that she died in a brawl,” Lizeth asked Clara again.
”I really have no idea, sorry,” Clara said.
”It's ok Lizeth. You don't need to keep asking her the same question. Besides, Iris got herself into shit,” Lynn intervened.
”What happened?” Clara asked.
”That idiot brought three bricks of coke to our room. We're lucky that the police aren't after us,” Lizeth said.
”Welp, Iris is desperate for money, I can understand that. Nevertheless, Lynn is right, Iris got herself into this mess and she has to get out by herself,” Clara said.
”Couldn't say anything better,” Lizeth said as she sipped her tea.
”Ok. Let's move to the next subject,” Lynn said, but a brown-haired girl came to the door of the library. Well, guess what, it was the newspaper club member whose leg was stabbed by Lynn some times ago.
She also held something on her left hand, a bullet casing. What did she want from them? Nevertheless, if she held a pistol, it would be worse for her since Lizeth and Lynn could resist 9mm bullets.
”What do you want?” Lynn said as she put her hands to the baton that was inside her coat pocket.
She looked at them with hostile intention, ”Where's Iris?”
Lizeth stood up from her chair with her baton in her right hand, ”Same question here,” she retracted that baton. Lynn and Clara did the same thing.
The girl lost her intimidating aura. She shivered in fear as the trio that beat the bullies approached her with her baton. They thought that she did something with Iris. That girl must solve the misunderstanding before the trip beat her up.
”Look, I'm not here to talk about that. I swear,” She said as she put the bullet casing on the table, ”My name is Bella Frein. I'm here to ask for a favor.”
”Hmm, let me think,” Lynn said as Lizeth grabbed the bullet casing from the table. Lizeth observed that bullet casing and acted stupidly as if she didn't know a thing about firearms.
”What's this bullet doing in here?” Lizeth asked Bella.
”That's is a spent casing of a 7.62x51mm bullet. It's military stuff. Iris has access to that kind of thing,” Bella said as she tried explaining her reason on why she came to that library.
Lynn made a cup of sweet tea for Bella as she sat down on the chair in that library. She told her everything that she knew about Iris. Lynn and Clara were surprised, but Lizeth was the most surprised person in that room since she knew Iris better than both of them. Bella told them the public secret of Iris.
Iris was the daughter of a police commissioner. She was a trouble maker since she was thirsty for money. She would do anything as long as the payment was good enough. So... What did a full-powered rifle round has to do with Iris? Well, Iris had access to military-grade hardware since she took it from the confiscated section of a police station.
”Say what???” Lizeth reacted.
”Yup, that's the truth,” Bella said.
It was a mystery on how she could have access to military-grade hardware, but before Lizeth and Lynn came, Iris was quite a trouble maker. Clara knew that, but she just hadn't tell Lizeth and Lynn since it was unnecessary.
Clara told them that Iris was some sort of hitman for the bullies. Bella admitted that as a fact. No, Iris didn't kill anyone, but she had the tendency to shoot someone's car if the seniors told her to do so. She got around 2k for doing that kind of thing according to Bella's information.
Clara also told them that an unknown gunman was used to follow her and shot her car. Well, that wasn't Lizeth since Lizeth went straight to her house and killed everyone.
There wasn't any evidence that could be pointed at Iris, but everyone knew that she did that. Her father simply removes all of the evidence because it simply didn't make any sense for an ”innocent” schoolgirl like Iris to hold someone at a gunpoint.
”Well, we don't know that,” Lynn said as Bella finished telling her story.
”Yeah. Me too,” Lizeth said.
