Chapter 66 - 66 (2/2)
”Where did this one learn all her manners from?” he asked in a gruff voice.
Jordan barked a laugh startling me. ”She's only polite because I just punished her. Believe me Reed and I have both been on the receiving end of her anger.”
I ducked my head and tried not to smile pretending instead that I was still drinking.
”Why are you over here?”Jordan asked.
”This one was starting to get anxious overseeing her friend in trouble and I found myself unable to take her stress,” Jack said with bewilderment in his voice.
Jordan chuckled and slapped his friend on the back. ”Told ya that she'd tie you into knots.”
Jack looked at Lizzie with concern in his eyes and I could have sworn I heard a distressed sound come from him.
”It'd only be fair seeing as she's done the same to me,” Jordan admitted in an awestruck voice.
Lizzie lifted her eyes to his as he stepped in close, and her mouth dropped open as she began to understand the meaning behind his words. His hand slid down and caressed the choker gently. When his heated gaze flashed between her eyes and the choker a sense of realization broke across her face and her hand flew up to and grasped the hearts and the key.
I nursed my water as I watched this unfold unable to comprehend what was going on but was riveted by it as well. I found myself wishing Reed was here so I could ask him what was going on. I sighed feeling slightly heartbroken at how much I had missed him.
”Mia.”
The sound of my name made me jump. I had been so busy trying to decipher this scene in front of me I had not realized I'd become the center of attention.
Again.
”Yes, Master Jordan?” I responded immediately.
”Will you be alright alone for a bit?” he asked.
I nodded anxiously thinking that me being alone right now would probably be a good idea. What had happened with the punishment really had me off balance and feeling more vulnerable than normal. It was hard enough to let Reed punish me and not give him a piece of my mind, but I had made an agreement with him. The idea that some random Dom could punish me, and I wasn't allowed to say anything was harder than I thought it would be.
Jack pushed a beer into my hand. ”You look like you need it. Don't move from the bar. Bouncers are running around keeping an eye on things so you should be fine as long as you stay here.”
I gave him a grateful look. ”Thank you, Master Jack. I appreciate your concern. But I'll be fine, I'm just going to sit here and people watch.”
He smiled and ruffled my hair like I was nothing but a little girl to him and I glared at him taking an immediate liking to him. The men led Lizzie off to a couch across the room and I watched as they sat her down and began to talk.. Then the crowd swelled and I was unable to see them anymore so I decided to watch the nearest scene.
